this is a thread for LO, i wrote about LO, where is the mistake?

to be more precisely - the code base is 13 years old.
it does not matter what they improve, remove, or add. the product is not stable because rather old code base.

That can be said about any software. Even with big new releases, there is always old code. For Windows for example once in a while a vulnerability pop-up that has been in the code for years or even a decade. Just with a quick online search I even found one that was in the code for 17 years:

Agreed. I used to work for a major software provider that had 20 year old comments in the source code. There probably is no mature source code that doesn't have original code in it. That is not necessarily a bad thing.

The biggest blocker to LibreOffice adoption? LibreOffice.

We need to talk philosophy today. This be an article discussing the problems with LibreOffice growth and adoption among businesses and individual users, focusing on Microsoft Office OOXML file format compatibility, pragmatic necessities of everyday usage, technical issues in the office suite, and more. Take a look.

Seriously, a 13 years old article?
Win11 is 64-bit only, so what?
and you cannot compare LibreOffice to windows which is much more complex.
LO is not stable because the code base is rather old, despite adding or changing features.
the code is not fully compatible to windows since years. maybe xp, or win7, but not a current win10/11.

nevertheless, anyone is free to have his choice, if it dont brake, thats luck ;)

I read it: I totally agree. In my experience, most problem occur using Calc, and also trying to open PPTX files with Impress. And it seems that there aren't useful and better free alternatives to Libre Office.

While I agree that better comparability is needed. Once LibreOffice goes that route, Microsoft will find away to foil it.

I disagree "Calc is just as not as good as Excel, period,". I'd say Calc is better than Excel.

The latest Fresh Branch 7.6.3.2 has been released. (23-November-2023)

The latest Still Branch 7.5.8.2 has been released. (23-November-2023)

Release Notes | Fresh & Still Branch Downloads | Blog |

Berlin, November 23, 2023 – LibreOffice 7.6.3 Community, the third minor release of the 7.6 family of the volunteer-supported free office suite for Windows (Intel/AMD and ARM processors), macOS (Apple and Intel processors) and Linux, is now available from our download page.

At the same time, the LibreOffice Viewer app for Android is back in the Google Play Store, to view documents based on the standard Open Document Format and the proprietary Microsoft Office format.

LibreOffice is the only open-source office suite for personal productivity which can be compared feature-by-feature with the market leader. LibreOffice offers the highest level of compatibility in the office suite market segment, with native support for the Open Document Format (ODF) – beating proprietary formats for security and robustness – to superior support for Microsoft Office files, along with filters for a large number of legacy document formats, to return ownership and control to users.

Based on the advanced features of the LibreOffice Technology platform for personal productivity on desktop, mobile and cloud, LibreOffice provides a large number of new features targeted at users sharing documents with or migrating from Microsoft Office to ensure their digital independence from the commercial strategy of vendors. These users should check new releases of LibreOffice on a regular basis, as the progress is so fast, that each new version improves dramatically over the previous one.

    LibreOffice for Enterprises

For enterprise-class deployments, TDF strongly recommends the LibreOffice Enterprise family of applications from ecosystem partners – for desktop, mobile and cloud – with a number of value-added features and benefits such as SLA (Service-Level Agreements): see this page.

Every line of code developed by ecosystem companies for their enterprise customers is shared with the community on the master code repository, and improves the LibreOffice Technology platform.

The Document Foundation has developed a Migration Protocol to support enterprises moving from proprietary office suites to LibreOffice, which is based on the adoption of an enterprise optimized version of LibreOffice, plus migration consultancy and training sourced from certified professionals who offer value-added solutions and services to match proprietary offerings: www.libreoffice.org/get-help/professional-support/.

Indeed, LibreOffice – thanks to its mature codebase, rich feature set, strong support for open standards, excellent compatibility and LTS options from certified partners – is the ideal solution for businesses that want to regain control of their digital independence, and free themselves from vendor lock-in.

    Availability of LibreOffice 7.6.3 Community

LibreOffice 7.6.3 Community is available from: our download page. Minimum requirements for proprietary operating systems are Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 and Apple macOS 10.15. LibreOffice Technology-based products for Android and iOS are listed here: www.libreoffice.org/download/android-and-ios/.

For users who don’t need the latest features, and prefer a version that has undergone more testing and bug fixing, The Document Foundation maintains the LibreOffice 7.5 family, which includes several months of back-ported fixes. The current version is LibreOffice 7.5.8 Community.

The Document Foundation does not provide technical support for users, although they can get it from volunteers on user mailing lists and the Ask LibreOffice website: ask.libreoffice.org

LibreOffice's users, free software advocates and community members can support The Document Foundation with a donation on this page.

Do you mean regarding Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit?
And do you mean EXE to exclude, to stop Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit from blocking LibreOffice?
Or do you mean something else?

    Ah, thanks.
So you did mean more EXE to be included for protection -- not excluded from blocking.
