SSM is more stable and faster than MD in xp service pack 2 that is my experience for now, this old pc is running SSM,WinPatrol Plus,PE Guard and MalWare Bytes Pro and it's cpu cycle is running at from 2% to 10% all the time when surfing and when watching videos in youtube is around 20%:thumb:

Do you mean to say I can still purchase/obtain a license for SSM? If so, how?

    Thanks

It's available at Gizmo's freeware forum, security section. I'm also authorized to distribute the license. The license has no time limit, but there is no vendor support.

Yea, understood. I tried to PM you but says the system is unavailable. Checked Gizmo's forum and PM'd that guy too, but if you are able to PM it to me somehow I would appreciate it :D

Also, I'm currently using 2.4.0.662, I think it's classified as a beta, is that the version this key is for or should I hunt down another?

    Thanks again

    Hi guys,

I would love to try the pro version, could someone (not sure who) post me a key?

Used the free version ages ago, never tried the pro.

By the way where can I download the latest non beta pro. Thanx. Or is the lastest a beta??

I believe, "the latest is beta".
When I got pro, there were two versions available
    SSM-2.4.0.621-beta.exe, 4513KB
    SSM-2.4.0.622-beta.exe, 4435KB
I use .621 because somewhere I was reading how it's most stable.
Whether it's true, or not, I don't know. Nor do I know what the difference might be, other than the size.

If I'm remembering correctly, the beta status is/was due to adding Vista compatibility at the time. Most of the differences between 621 and 622 are due to Vista support. Vista support might not be bug free. On 2K thru XP, 622 is very stable. I've used it since its release and haven't had any problems.

Thanks. XP here. And your (noone_particular)experience with .622 sounds good to me.
Curious that the added Vista support made the download file smaller.

Hello. I used to work with the free version of System Security Monitor but since i had to reinstall my PC with Windows XP SP3, i have the message 'driver not found, please reinstall' message each time... o_O However the latest version (2.4.0.622) works fine but there is a 30 days trial limit.
Since this program is discontinued, could someone please provide me a valid serial for the latest version of System Safety Monitor ? I would really appreciate .
    Thanks a lot !!!

Don't see the 622 version on the archive site either. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

    Thanks jmonge,

    But I get a 404.

Tried a lot of sites yesterday for this 622 download, but same response.

On the archive site - the download files for 620 and 621 are labeled 618 and are the same size.

I'll be happy if one or both run on XP SP3.

If I can't get 622, not a problem - I'll be replacing Vista with Win7 sometime early next year. I'll try running 621 on Vista and see how it goes.

BTW, for any using IE8, the archive site is "iffy", doesn't fully load.

Some good news and some bad news.

The good news, 622 works on XP SP3.

The bad news, doesn't work on Vista with SP's installed, or at least not with SP2. Get the "driver missing message - reinstall".

    A real bummer.

I've used this program since Max started developing it and if you're a control freak, this is the perfect software.

I've also used it many times to diagnose/hunt down processes that have caused problems.
I have a current intermitent problem on Vista, the cause of which is a mysrery at the moment, that I was hoping I could use SSM to solve.
