This happens a lot with eScan, the update server contains a file which "decides" which database files are to be used by the scan engine. It could just be FPs that were removed from the extended database, or (more probably) one of the database files have been excluded from being used in the scanning.

MWTI usually sorts this out in a while, so just wait and watch. :)

    Hi
what you say is correct for escan free version 4.4.7 (today's 165014)
But not for the new version 7.4.5 see pic (161319 for today's)
it is still less than that of 2005/12/12 (first post)

I have 165123 as of now, so the first (4.4.7) would be correct. I have no idea why eScan 7.4.5 shows this number, because if it was using the standard databases it would be around 155000.:)

    Ok. thanks
I'll stick to ver4.4.7 because it updates and scans perfectly. I see also it found more nasties then ver7.4.5
One thing remains unclear to me: does the free version still "scan and clean" or it scans only like 7.4.5 Thanks again
