    [Lavasoft Ad-Aware] Shieldpowerup.com

    I was looking for some info at www.lavasoft.com, when I noticed a link for Ad-Aware Game Edition. The link goes to -http://www.shieldpowerup.com/adaware_game_edition

    I must confess that I wasn't familiar with such domain. Then again, I do not use Lavasoft's products.

    I looked it up in URLVoid, and hpHOSTS flags it as being engaged in malware distribution.

    I still haven't directly visited that domain, but I was wondering if anyone knew about it?

    I noticed now that I mistakenly named a different domain in this thread's subject. I meant -shieldpowerup.com-, instead of -techpowerup.com-

    I don't know about that site.

    It seems Lavasoft Ad-Aware resumes to have some adware issues yet...

    They begun with an agreement with the adware WhenU Save some years ago.

    I seriously doubt that unless they made some dramatic recent changes, or this version really is different.

    The site is good, it only got a bad rating because of a hpHosts false positive.

    Not the first time that I have seen a site's rating on WOT damaged by hpHosts. That's why I use MVPS hosts.
