Large file download on 1st connection

On 5MAR07 I went to ESET and got the latest installer files (like ndntenst.exe) for v2.70.32.

I have used this new installer twice now, but when I do the 1st connection to ESET to complete the install I still sit through a download of a 6.5MB file set! @56K dialup this takes ~20min....

Will the installer files get updated to avoid the huge update fileset?

Lastly, I have noticed that in the last several days, I get updates from ESET that appear to be ?program components?. I say this because nothing appears to get "updated." And, I do not see any change in the fileset in my Mirror directory. Where are these "phantom" files going?

Here's a response I received from Marcos today when I asked the same question:

"It doesn't matter what engine version is included in the installers, the first update always downloads the whole database. This will change with v3."
