One more thing, their key is registered in name of HCL (one of Indian Computer Manufacturer)

I got this info in key ( I got this key after registration of activation code on kaspersky.com)

You know I was also thinking the same. Why would an Indian company be giving away 3 year license to KIS for free. o_O

I do admit I bit the bullet and got the offer but now I want to know if this is valid or not. How can we compare the activation keys? :doubt: And why does this company keep extending the offero_O? What's up with that?o_O

When you activate, it goes to the Kaspersky servers for verification, that is when it is sent back from Kaspersky with the expiration date. So Kaspersky is the one saying this software is valid through this date. The license is good, but,,,,,,,, the license holder is HCL. Now I know nothing about them or their products, and for the most part think this is a totally legit deal, but,,,,lets say they decide next year that you have to start paying a yearly maintance fee on Memory Zipper, and you dont, well, they can legallly have your license deactivated. This is a worse case scenario and I dont think you would see it. This licenses have to be paid in full before Kaspersky would offer them.

One thing you can do. I know because I did. You can exchange the activation code for a regular Kaspersky key. Takes all of about thirty seconds. Yes, it's very legit.

they sent me activation code and I converted it into KEY.

I think, they are giving separate code to every one through Kaspersky indian distributor.

One more thing, when I bought their product, even I got email from kaspersky " thanks for buying KIS".

(may be they are paying to KIS and giving us Memory Zipper Plus at free of cost because it's their own product,
but marketing is always something different, you see something and you can get....)

Or maybe Kaspersky are keen to increase market share and are making this offer available to an up-and-coming Indian company? Maybe they think that they can get more users onto kaspersky in Indie or South-East Asia?

Whatever the case, this must be good for Kaspersky, even if they are selling licenses so cheaply - for every person running their product for the next three years, that's one less person buying a competitor's product...

in the case of a lot of users on this forum, getting the kaspersky license is just 'adding to the stable' of registrations under their belt.

It does look a bit fishy, but I would be very suprised if the online activation would accept the same key for so many users.

my key starts with C5 and ends with NQ

Thanks for the feedback; it looks like this truly is a legit hot deal. The fact that they accept Paypal and use Element5 for the processing is a plus. The offer has been extended once again until tomorrow. :thumb:

until kaspersky blacklists them and i hope they black list yours soon to stop you:D
kaspersky deserve the money since they make a top notch product.
would you want someone to not pay you for what ever you do as a profession?

It just makes it easier, at least for me, to store the key as a backup as opposed to copying the activation code.

I also tried converting the Activation code to a keyfile - just for the heck of it. Worked fine - Kaspersky's web interface accepted the activation code and provided me with the keyfile by automatic email.

Interestingly, I entered my personal details on the Kaspersky site as part of the conversion, but the delivered keyfile when viewed in a text editor showed contacts for folks in New Delhi, India - presumable where SysTweak is based.

It might be worth it on a system that is running on very low ram, it is effective at freeing up memory.

Maybe the reason they are able to offer this deal is that kaspersky has aquired some services or code from systweak, this makes the most sense to me.
