China's Kingsoft Rumored to Partner with Baidu :(

As rumors of Baidu investment fly, Kingsoft says it is in talks with “independent third parties”

Dude , it'd be better if you be a little bit more patient, let's see if this will be officially confirmed.

    Regards,

When you install Kingsoft now, it tell you that you have an outdated version, and gives you the option to download the new version. After trying to download the new version it gives you the same message.

I will give that a try on the next computer I install it on.

But I find it strange that that I'm being told there is a new version immediately after downloading it from Kingsoft's website.

They have a bugged installer. have reported the problem ages ago and apparently no one bothered to fix it. Seriously, how freakin hard is it to have one guy that checks the forums daily for community feedback?

Then no surprise that I several times reported them that Comodo's KillSwitch isn't any malware and all to no avail.

they must be alive, I reported that it was grabbing teamviewer as a Trojan and in the feb 4th update, it no longer tagged it so they must have saw my post and fixed it.
It is still getting daily definition updates so something is alive with it

I really hope they do not kill it, I find it is light and one of the best new cloud antivirus programs out there
I have it installed on almost all my computers and my clients

Guys, Kingsoft is ideal take over or partner candidate for Baidu

Look at Chrome and Google Docs

Look at Internet Explorer and Office 365

Look at Baidu and Kingsoft Office, get the picture?

Baidu 2013 UK will be launched in stead of Kingsoft 2013 (for home users).Baidu also offers a Rising/Kingsoft PC Doctor like program to enter the Vietnamese and Thai market. Remember Epic Browser (with build in AV), Epic is for India and has the same home market potential as Baidu (China). So Baidu will offer an AV also. you need something

    a) beter local laguage support to distinguis from mainstream western browsers
    b) have some extra (they all ofer a) to distiguish them from their fellow competitors
    c) Baidu is big, when it offers simular packages like Chrome (Docs) and Internet Explorer (365) it stands out from the pack of competitors, because it offers the same as the leading mainstream browser.

It is as clear as an open strategy book IMO. I did not mention Firefox and Open/Libre office, because their is way less synergie between the two, FF will not benefit from LO (LO has no advantage/reason to migrate to the cloud, staying desktop might prove best for LO).

It would be good to have a forum for Baidu.
