Nice. And thank you for the welcome.

So far so good with Kingsoft. Did a full scan a couple days ago and no threats were found. I've never heard of this company before which made me leery at first to give the product a try. After reading most of the posts in this thread I decided to give her a go and find out for myself. Can't wait for the 2013 version as I remember reading will have a higher detection rate yet.

I'm thinking of disabling Windows Firewall and installing Comodo Firewall. Will it clash with Kingsoft?

Excellent. Thank you for the quick reply. Hopefully it won't interfere with AVG either. Comodo that is.

Wouldn't PCAV interfere with Kingsoft and vice versa if they both use real-time protection?

No, as has been discussed on this thread a number of times now, Kingsoft is speicifally designed to work alongside other antivirus software.

Well, Kingsoft is designed to run alongside any resident av. Though only real experience will confirm that Kingsoft is ok with a given av.

So far only Vipre based programs are known to conflict with Kingsoft. And i've been using it with PCAV and avast! without any problems.

It looks nice though i somehow prefer the current warning popups. They are shaped better and red color scheme screams for attention opposed to this light blue and white where you don't know if it's a warning or a normal message...

It has worked so far with no noticeable problem with AVG 2013 Free. I just didn't know if it would be alright to use with another cloud antivirus for some reason. I may just give it a try.

I like the new AppMan feature showing the processes that are running and if they're secure.

Kingsoft Internet Security Software Integrates Avira Anti-Malware Engine
Tettnang, Germany & Hong Kong, China --- October 9, 2012 – Security expert Avira announced today that Kingsoft Internet Security Software, China’s leading security software development company, will license and integrate Avira’s anti-malware technology.

Avira’s anti-malware engines will be used in Kingsoft’s consumer PC desktop security software products marketed under its Kingsoft Antivirus and Kingsoft Internet Security brands, as well as its Chinese-language Duba brand.

“As a global Internet security company, Kingsoft uses both in-house technology and trusted partners like Avira to give our customers the best security protection possible,” said Mr. Fu Sheng (傅盛), CEO of Kingsoft Internet Security Software. “Avira technology has a reputation in the industry for quality engineering, low memory consumption, full multi-threading support, high throughput and reliability, and other performance advantages. Best of all, we are able to use Avira’s SAVAPI anti-malware SDK, which makes integrating Avira security technology simple and cost-effective.”
“We are grateful to Kingsoft for their trust in Avira to help to protect their millions of customers,“ said Tjark Auerbach, founder and CEO of Avira. “We look forward to a long relationship.”

In general there should not be any problems. KAV deserves to be given a try.

It does have more of an impact then the previous version. It does slow down browser opening and page loading. Not in a terrible way but it is noticeable.

In new version SP 5.5 very nice application manager appeared. It scans in cloud all running processes and shows their status. You can end any process. Resembles Comodo's KillSwitch.

I've been using KAV for a week and I quite like it. Especially find it useful when I download files.

What I meant was, will KAV work with another cloud antivirus like Panda Cloud? Because I was thinking of giving Panda a try in replace of AVG 2013 Free.
