@roger_m Ah thanks. I misunderstood that due to the British Summer Time 1 hour difference, and thought it had just started

Yes it is a good software imho, and I've been using it these past 6 months :thumb:

On which OS? Has it ever caused you any problems? Does it enable you to reverse a change after it has been made by the good Doctor?

@bellgamin You can rollback any changes it makes. I've been using Kersih Doctor on and off for the past ten years, and it works well.

I have bought a 2 year license for this program , and I must say that I am not impressed with it at all. the least with customer suport. I have sent them an email with some suggestions , but they never even replied ( their website states that customer suport will always reply .) what a joke! there are better free options out there : ccleaner and wisecare for instance.

@Crystal_Lake_Camper Perhaps you should try emailing them again. I've emailed technical support three times in the last few days and have received very quick replies. Everytime I've emailed them over the years they have responded, so maybe they didn't get your emails.

I don't like Wise Care as it has minor issues with false positives, and in my opinion Kerish is much better than CCleaner (which I have not used for years).

On Windows 7 SP1 HP 32-bit, with ne'er an issue that has caused any difficulty. I've been impressed with it, and didn't expect it to be so good. :)

from my view: kerish is only another tuning plague this decade.
no new feature which is not offered from windows itself.
as long some thought is wasted to those programs they wont die.

@Brummelchen It does a lot that Windows can't do, e.g.:
    Checking for software updates
    More thorough disk cleanup
    Recovering deleted files
Fixes for a lot of Windows problems
Realtime detection and fixing of Windows problems

I find it hard to believe that this app can prevent Windows crashes... are there any reports or legitimate examples of this feature in action?

@marzametal I haven't seen it prevent crashes, but it has done the following:

A year ago I ran the cleaner BleachBit (the first and only time I have ever used it), and it started deleting system files. For some of the system files that were deleted, Kerish Doctor alerted me and said it was restoring the deleted files.

Once after uninstalling a security suite, Windows Firewall was damaged. Kerish Doctor detected this and fixed it. It's woth noting that Windows Firewall was actually not working, rather than just being turned off.

I'd be very wary of using this application.
In fact, personally, I would NOT use it at all.

    Opinions may vary.

It's safe to use, and won't delete anything that it shouldn't. At one point the regsitry cleaner has issues with false positives, but these issues were quickly fixed once I emailed them about it.

    lmao for sure

not sure what windows you use - but my can do that nearly all - and most software check themselves for updates. omg all that updater programs - would have crashed my running system any time. in some cases i cant use updates - those only check for higher numbers which wont work here. why should i care for such crap include kerish?

    - dont delete if you care about recovering

windows isnt that broken as such programs should make us believe. i never made a registry cleanup on windows 10 - its running perfectly. why should i care about mru lists in registry? windows is telling it immediately when an entry occurs, in special windows 10. pointless.

do you personally care about those customers - each of them - who believe this (****) stupid programs and cry out for help if it had destroyed windows? i dont think you wont - i would say you would think "you installed it, now get along with it".

@Brummelchen I persnoally don't use most of those features, I was just listing what it can do. I use several other programs to check for updates. I find the disk cleanup to be helpful, as my 250GB SSD is too small for my needs, but I can't afford a bigger one.

At least Kerish Doctor is safe to use, and won't break anything.

I haven't used registry cleaners in many years (at least 5) and I've never promoted or used all-in-one "cleaning" suites. I've seen too many systems hosed by these types of programs. But, I went ahead this weekend and trialed Kerish Doctor on my ancient HP laptop running Windows 10. This computer is essentially my test computer as it is 6-8 years old so I don't really care a whole lot what happens to it. I will say that I have been having significant over-heating issues with it lately.

I was also having an issue with sound. I coudn't get any sound to come from the machine including music or videos. Nothing I did seemed to work. So, on a whim, I decided to give Kerish Doctor a try. So, I enabled TimeFreeze and installed it. After the program updated itself, it took probably 20-30 minutes for it to run a "full scan". It found almost 2 GB of temporary files! (And, I don't have much on this machine?!) After clicking on "repair all", it took close to 5 minutes to "fix" everything it found. Interestingly enough, all of a sudden, my sound was back working again! The other thing that I noticed was that my over-hearing CPU issue also seemed to be fixed.

So, I re-booted, essentially turning off TimeFreeze, and returned my computer back to normal. The sound issue was back as was the overheating CPU. So, I re-installed Kerish Doctor, this time not under TimeFreeze. Once again, it appeared to have fixed both my sound issue and my overheating CPU issue. At this point, my plan is to leave it for the 14 day trial and see what happens. I may actually be purchasing this software in 2 weeks?!

    "sound issue" means what?
"overheating cpu" has some reason. it does not help when kerish is throttling the cpu based on temperature sensors.

    both is only make-up!

when sound is broken i most cases a codec is broken.
i had that experience last year when a program inserted its own codecs and removed them without setting back old values.
for good a had a fresh backup image.

concerning cpu get a more descent task manager, eg process explorer vom MS/sysinternals
    http://technet.microsoft.com/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
it can show up all cores and processes on it.

if process explorer dont show something special cleanup inside your computer, dust and other, in special cpu cooler/fan. notebooks often have that problem after a while.

@Brummelchen When did you last try Kerish, if at all?
In my estimation the developers of Kerish Doctor appear to have great knowledge of the Windows OS, and the program does do a good job.

Of course I know that, generally speaking applications of this type can often be better classified as 'snake oil', and I certainly approached the Doctor with caution and skepticism, and have been pleasantly surprised by its overall performance. But of course you could have had problems using it, and YMMV etc...so if you had issues with it please tell us about it, as it might be good to know.:doubt:

Please don't jump to conclusions. I'm not some 10 year old who doesn't know or understand computers. I consider myself very knowledgeable about computers and am over 50 years old. I know how to problem solve and fix most hardware and software issues. I can tell you that both the overheating CPU and the no-sound at all issue were very real and not "make-up!".

I'm just telling you my experience over this past holiday weekend. So far, I'm impressed with KD. Like I said above, I've got 2 weeks to check it out and try it. I may or may not decide to purchase it. Time will tell.

Kerish Doctor does not throttle a CPU. However, tt will alert you if a CPU is getting excessively hot. Actually, at least 99% of system maintenance software doesn't throttle the CPU.

Kerish can fix some codec issues.

It appears that you have never actually used Kerish, and are just making your own biased assumptions.

sorry alex for jumping in - thought you have some trouble and looks like kerish can help out.
reason is that i dont use such "rubbish" software - i dont need such software to repair or clean up my system, there never was any reason to do - that may also answer Dermot7 question. my latest tuner/tweaker was tuneup v2004 on windows xp in 2004 - i dropped xp in 2012 - so 8 years without such crap.
same here - last 20 years - so i may currently a youngtimer for you. too many broken systems without any chance to get them repaired without reinstalling.

ofc this is a result of a good marketing - although some vendor may have some good investigations on windows - no doubt about. but the mass part of users dont have at almost all who use such programs do believe that those programs may help out of issues. i say: they cant.

they may found broken links, settings or keys - but they dont know why it is broken.
"repairing" in most cases means deletion when there are no presets known.

@roger_m - i dont really need to use programs. i have tested kerish (under the hood of shadow defender, no option to run in sandboxie) and i dont saw any difference to eg TuneUp, Wise or Glary tools. and it told me nothing new about my system as i wrote above. i have tested also wise and glary - and the result was a damaged system. those found entries which are needed from windows but have no other reference - the reference is in the string itself.
