Win Update KB950582 disables the special function keays of my HP multimedia keyboard: The "open/close DVD", "EMAIL"; "SEARCH", etc.
    (Win VISTA Basic with SP1)
It screws the keyboard driver program so it can't be reprogrammed.
    Uninstall/Reinstall of driver doesn't work.

Uninstall of KB950582 (through pre-KB950582 system restore) fixes it.

This happened on TWO HP computers. KB950582 was released to auto update just a couple days ago. I am not on auto-update; it is set to notify me. But, of course, I just naively downloaded and installed it anyway, because it was ranked as "Important"

    Any ideas ?

I don't know if this is related at all, but on my XP laptop (Compaq) the latest MS updates have messed up the internet connection (system restore fixed it). On the other hand my Vista ultimate laptop (Asus) was updated successfully.

EDIT-I've just noticed that the XP problem is related to my having L'n'S firewall for which a workaround has been issued by Frederic (L'n'S forum).

I personally would use the free support.
