KAV Pro 5 question

hi everyone.
just a quickie, has any user of KAV pro 5.0 ever noticesd any issues with thier pc while running this, or even the KAV/KIS 2006 beta versions.
i tried the KIS 2006 beta on my sons pc and there seemed to be a few tiny bugs in it so i removed it and installed his older KAV pro 5.0

im having severe fragmentation problems on his newly built pc (c/drive) at the moment (while running win MCE) and KAV pro seems to be running a lot in the background, constantly doing scans while im using the pc, and it seems to bog it down a bit while the icon in the taskbar is flashing away.

i have KAV pro 5 on my pc at the moment (waiting for KIS 2006 to arrive) and its not seemingly doing anything like its doing on my sons pc, i hardly know its there and when it does scan, its not bogging my pc down.

anyway, just wanted to ask other users cos i read a post in here somewhere that they also found KAV 5 especially seemed to cause him problems.

albinoni, please feel free to comment, and i do now like the new MSAS beta1 since ms took over GIANT software company, its totally changed and they got it right this time, although i still believe what i said about the original MSAS was a load of rubbish, but this one i love, plus ewido 3.5, both do a great job, and im removing my spy sweeper i think, it didnt get half what these 2 do.

 

Yes. This is a known issue. KAV does not behave well we defragers. Close KAV before you do defragmentation. KAV 2006 is much better in this regard though.

so what do u mean when u say it doesnt behave well with defraggers.
i dont see the link between what im asking about KAV and how it behaves and defragging.
maybe i wasnt very clear in my first post, but my sons pc has severe issues with fragmentation on c/drive, due to the newly installed MCE and HL2/STEAM.

its not to do with KAV pro, i just wanted to know if anyone notice anything unusual with the way KAV runs on thier pc with the seemingly constant scanning in the background everytime we do anything on the pc. its not an issue with my pc, but i thought it could be an issue because of the fragmentation hassles im having on his pc, which we are now going to reformat and reinstall his older xp pro, as the media centre was not designed for gaming rigs, and i didnt know this when i bought it, and the MCE on his pc has errors and file system issues.

but thanks for your input anyhow, i appreciate any replies.
