That's correct. This version is beta tested even more thourough than last version.
Lower cpu, better protection and far better firewall as well

Unfortunately it BSOD my Mom's laptop with XP MCE 2005 with a KILF.DLL error I think it is. It seems to have a problem with the peoplepc dialer software that she uses. No upgrades from PPC either yet.

I hope I bought 2 licences in Novemeber but the newer versions has casued BSOD on both mine & my wife's laptop, so I uninstalled them. I been running Avast & comado on both with no issues so doubt I'll upgrade. I respect Kaspersky, trully I do but I don't know if I'm ready to go through all that & than have problems...

I had a couple of problems with MP2 when I ran the first system scan. It failed. The second also failed. However, after that I ran several complete system scans that worked correctly.
All is running well now. I don't know why. However, if you visit the Kaspersky forum there are some of the same problems and some BSOD. I don't know if it would be better to wait a few days and see if there are update fixes or not.

As much as I like KAV 6, I admit that it is annoying to keep going through the upgrade problems. I think at this point in time I could not recommend it to someone that wants an AV that is just "install and forget." I hope all settles down soon, and we do not have several upgrades such as this every year. I know that they are working on heuristics, and that will not doubt be another major update, but hopefully that will do it for awhile. It is still the best for me overall.

    Best,
    Jerry

even i am not a full time kaspersky user...coz for some reason the updates always seem to corrupt the installation...(no problems with this till now!)

im sorry to hear your troubles with kav6.0 mp2.
my kis6.0 upgrade from mp1 to mp2 was a perfect transistion with no uninstall needed.
i installed kis6.0 mp2 over the top of mp1 configed settings rebooted and it was done and then run a scan.

KAV 6.0.2.614 running great on windows XP Home here. In fact, it works better than the previous version...no slowdowns with everything enabled. Previously, I had to disable the web scanner or use streaming scan if I wanted streaming video and not experience slowdowns while surfing. Now, even with buffered scan I can get streaming videos and no slowdowns at all.

    Great job, Kaspersky! :thumb: :)

    Edit: Rewording

I tried KAV on Vista Home Premium, Vista Business and Ultimate and Had Webroot Spy Sweeper grind to a Stand Still on all 3 Versions of Vista. Not untill I uninstalled Kaspersky did Spy Sweeper again Scan my Computers. No doubt theres a conflict between these two programs

you could always keeep kaspersky and dump spsyweeper and use superantispyware free as on demand or buy superantispyware pro to replace spysweeper.
on my pc im getting soon there is no way in hell spysweeper will go anywhere near it.
    my pc my rules:D
then my dad cant decide what apps i can or cant use.
