Don, you are absolutely right! Couldn't live without my daily cup of iStreams :D

  2. Hey could someone test kav prototype against a permutation to see if they fixed that problem .. or is there any heuristics?

synapse, contimplating on whether to stay with his customized systemworks premier or to try this new alpha, aww the choices, the stress that comes into choosing something.

A tear of joy, for synapse has went with the new alpha and he loves it. What will come of KAV now, people have a good idea were its headed. But time will tell

*gasp* They finally let you disable the start-up scan (for real), and have time-based file checking. Time to try this out.

I don't like any Security Suites. KAV should stick to what they are good at - making the best Anti Virus out there.

Em i don't agree with you. Every component can be deselected. I really don't see the problem.

this is true @_@, and suites might have some usefull stuff in it that you may want, that do a really good job, then if you were to download ANOTHER application...... and if you dont want it, you can deselect it, and you wouldnt have to worry it....

I see it! (What have I won? :D ) I don't think a suite would be cheap if you only use the AV :D :D :D

I am with Ianb in this one.

I don't think having a security suite is good coz

    1. Having sll types of security from one company is not good
    2. Its not good coz for antiviruses KAV antivirus is the best but for firewall is not thats why its good to have security software from diffrent companies.

    For example......

    KAV antivirus
    Zonealarm firewall
    Adaware se antispyware
    etc.....

plus security suites bring more bugs than just one product plus its bloated.

    Thats my opinion :)

I think he means to say that if Kaspersky only has a full security suite it will cost him more for features he doesn't want.

    EXACTLY.

Anyway, it was getting boring with everyone saying how good it was. :D

this is the lightest anti virus that Iv come across on my system. Iv not comfortable with diffirent firewall / anti virus / AT / spyware software . There always seems to be issues with one peice of software dragging along some how.And I dont know for sure whether there is a lessening of security due to each software developers design conflicting with another. However this kav 6 with its components so far operate together like velvet . Whether its more secure than 3 or 4 diffirent components I dont know . But I can say that I feel comfortable with this style of security.

After trying it out so far, this is like the first iteration of KAV that seems "light" to me on this computer. I didn't think it was quite possible. Hopefully it can stay around the same for the final version with the full implementation.

Yes prettyplease let them keep it light! Trialled NOD32 last couple of days, against this new suite and my KAV 5.0.277 (with streams activated) and NOD32 and KAV6 win hands down (and HL2 runs better as well :D :ninja: )

Yes...I loved it! Actually, I was talking of the story line for the entire series i.e. why some things are kept a mystery...what happened in between HL1 and HL2 etc.

NO, There will be two personal products: KAV (only AH) & KIS 2006. And KAV will cost much cheaper than KIS.

Will KAV have the usual personal/pro editions?
