Well I never! Thought the old dog had had its day :) . Well done all at Kaspersky Labs. First 3 time winner?

Don't use AV real-time anymore but Kaspersky was always a favourite when I did, although I take it the performance tests don't impact the overall results too much! ;)

    Cheers

I think Kaspersky deserved it. They have done consistent performer through out the year.

    Great jobs Kaspersky Guys.

I still have some wish that it be better in performance and boot time as despite what test says, I find it heavy.

I would be happy to come back to Kaspersky if my wish is fulfilled :)

F-Secure, Bitdefender, ESET, AVIRA all are recognized for their top protection.

Probably not. Take a look at their results from AV-Test.

Emsisoft is extremely over-rated like Norton. It is good, but not great as it's being put up here on the forums.

I would totally agree with that statement.

Anyone know if Kaspersky Pure has the same or enhanced protection over Kaspersky IS 2012?

They've got a 2 year for the price of one promotion going in my region which I am thinking of taking advantage of.

None of us on this forum are able to determine if a product is overrated or not.
Heck, I'm looking at the latest six-month VB100 RAP Test and see Emsisoft in the upper right hand corner. I know this is only a one month test for Emsisoft but it is still pretty impressive.

If Kaspersky lightens up a little (especially its impact on boot times) I'll switch in a heartbeat.

Not to mention Emsisoft's stellar performance at MRG and Norton performing better than most others in the flash tests and for the 4th report in a row Norton having the least compromises in AV-C's Whole Product Dynamic Test.

Thanks. Got 2 years of KIS 2012 instead.

Never had any problems using Kaspersky and there are no issues in regards to system performance. I had some initial problems activating a trial license previously but had to use jv16 Powertools 2011 to search the registry for any files with the word's Norton or Symantec and after deleting those files no problems :thumb:

Congrats to Kaspersky for winning in 2011.

This is true. 90% of Emsisoft detection makes Ikarus. Take away Ikarus and this is the end of the story.

'Tear the roof of a house and it becomes very leaky.' Sure, but what kind of argument is that?
Taking an essential part out of any product will make it perform less.
And why would you say that you concur with the 'overrated' statement by pointing out, the performance of Ikarus? Ikarus does detection, there is also the prevention part of EAM.

edit; I guess I get why you concur with the 'overrated' statement. Not that I agree though.
