Kaspersky Patches Several Vulnerabilities in Web Protection Features November 26, 2019 https://www.securityweek.com/kaspersky-patches-several-vulnerabilities-web-protection-features
After long session with Kaspersky: (f) = ****** up (g) = will be public on 12/09/2019, hopefully (g) = good My know issues with (f): Tech Smith's "Snagit" won't start auto start; Mozilla many problems; MBAM disaster with (f); New York Times, won't display using KIS browser protection. Probably more! edit: (f) auto update fails frequently
Tech Smith's "Snagit" won't start auto start | I use SnagIt and no problems.. never. Mozilla many problems | No problems here. I don't use 'Kaspersky Protection', 'Antibanner' en Firefox. MBAM disaster with (f) | I have MBAM Premium but a have'nt it resident. Only on demand. Important link. I had updates problems with 'e' but solved with 'f' patch. Maybe you need a clean install of Kaspersky
Well as they say your mileage can vary! Snagit always auto started (e), (f) never auto starts. KIS & Tbird, known conflicts, advised Mozilla forum, to in KIS > adv > network > disable protection for Mozilla. Problem solved. MBAM KIS & MBAM tech support are well aware of conflict with (f). What prompted my post #3, using (f) was KIS not auto updating signatures. KIS took control, tried going back to (e), then back to (f), could not replicate the problem. Nor was he interested in windows logs, I'm sure if security center warned, that event would be in a log somewhere. After manually running, "Run update" Windows security, has the little green check mark again. My point is work a rounds exist, to overcome something not working quite right, but that's a temp. solution. MY POST #3 Was to advise date of NEW patch (g), available 12/9. A release date for (g) was not provided to vendors. So fingers crossed (g) comes tomorrow & solves some problems. I would like to see like KIS historically as done, get back, to dominating the charts at AV Comparatives etc
If You are in a laptop and working on battery You should disable in Performance Settings -> Disable scheduled tasks while running on battery power, if enabled and working on battery Kaspersky will not auto update...
Thanks Harlan! Desktop! That should have been a Q from Kaspersky Tech. (g) = good or Ghee losing patience with, comrades from Russia Also it will update by itself OK, then just stop, causing manual update
