kaspersky internet security hangs my windows xp

my kaspersky internet security hangs my windows xp.after that i to have boot shutdown which is causing problem..any1 who has solution (i want to use kis without hangups)

What version are you running? Do you have any other security software installed?

If u r using Spybot S&D it may cause problems coz i had that earlier after that i used super anti-spyware

Spybot S&D is imcompatible with kaspersky.
if you have tea timer active disable it.
hmm so did you have problems with superantispyware?
i use just superantispyware and kaspersky.

MBAM works nicely with KAV2009, I'm not sure why you'd use anther anti-malware with KIS though as surely KIS is already anti-malware?

kav is also an antimalware.
nothing can detect 100percent so i use superantispyware as my on demand app.
mbam is also good but i got superantispyware pro license so i use that.

Start > Run > msconfig

Go over to start up see whats booting up. might be something in there conflicting with it like a Old AV still having a startup task starting up.

if u went with kaspersky...u either uninstall any other security layer u got or u sit down and tweak it so that it won't go after u...tried almost all softs around kaspersky out of the box is incompatible with 80% of them

Maybe that's how they keep there detection up. is just make everything around them incompatible.


You could also check out Services.msc

yup there were two softwares super antispywares and true sword but they wetre not on startup...i jst uninstalled it(( i think kis needs kav installed with it))still a issue with kis hangup

Both work fine for me so its probably something else Thats giveing you problms

it think may be i downloaded some corrupt kis from internet(as theres nothing sure with free things)

is it ok to install two anti virus(((kav and alwil avast(lite))) both ...i think avast is light so it wont hang up with kav and provide improved security..your opnion

No, will cause huge issues. It doesn't matter whether the SW is light or not, it intercepts the same stuff and gets into the way of each other. Never mix two realtime security applications doing the same thing (AV, FW, antispyware or whatever similar).

what is the best antivirus at this time(kav,alwil or any other) because i used panda,norton and nod 32..but they dont detect as much viruses as kav or alwil avast...so whats the best to own
