    It seems that the free version is offered only in countries where K is interested in selling their products (sounds pretty obvious, I know).

    I doubt Kaspersky doesnt want to sell their products to english speaking countries
    That makes more sense..

    No, I meant that K refuses (by now) to offer its free version to english speaking countries where the brand is widely known and has a captive audience, which is understandable.

    Maybe that is a good thing for English speaking users! Who knows what is going on with Russia right now.

    Their KAR tool is free. It has the behavioral blocker System Watcher and intelligent AV cloud scanning to block rapidly evolving
    ransomware.

    I keep getting redirected to usa.kaspersky.com and its not shown.

    Thanks. Installed KAV Free - the installer stub downloaded the full application. Be advised it uninstalls KAR since they're incompatible.

    Kaaspersky AV Free does disable Windows Defender.

    Don't check the detect remove box for remote programs because it'll disable Process Hacker 2.

    System Watcher is not included in KAV Free so you'll have install another anti-ransomware program. KAR is incompatible with KAV Free.
