Those that had the previous version, .55, may have seen a news alert about the new one being available on FTP. A nice feature I think!

Yes, it is a nice feature!

However, Build 60 does not appear to be as stable as Build 55. I think that it is a case of 2 steps forward and one step back, so have gone back to Build 55 for the moment.

Overall the quality of these initial betas is very good for that stage in the development process but the parental control feature needs a lot of work yet.:)

Can anyone tell me what is this scary sound that KAV produces on Virus alert. Sound of some animal? or what?
It reminds me the trojan alert sound of old Ewido.

That "pig squeal" used to irritate the VB100 testers to no end back in the 4.5 days. I think we're going to see some comments about it again in a future VB100 :D

No the "pig" is gone. But for those who hated the pig. You are able and allowed to change the sound in v6 as well

September 17, 2007. If it does not release by then, you can call Don Pelotas as: Old grumpy :D :D :D

(no offense intended towards Don, but he himself posted almost the exact same thing in the official KAV forums :D)

i would think it could come out by then.
kav/ki6.0 would released in june last year i believe so having them for one year is fine. but if theres a delay its fine. i would rather wait than have a buggy product

Was KAV 5.0 released in June 2005? I think it was released before that....

If you see the pattern between Kaspersky releases, the 4.x to 5.x, 5.x to 6.x releases have always had a gap of *more than* one year before release. So its not a strictly every year release, so there's a huge possibility KAV 7 will not release in May/June.

yes, but v6 was build from scratch, v7 has the same heart as v6, and most of the code is identical.
