Kaspersky 4.5 is supported?

Here's the email I got from ICE. I didn't notice till now that the reply is from the managing partner of I.C.E. Systems!

Mele,

We do not specify the version in the product info or store item. You
are purchasing a Kaspersky AV license. It is your option to apply this
license to the 4.5 or 5.0 version. The license key file we provide
will work with any release level of the product.

So, if you buy a Kaspersky license from ICE Systems, we can offer you
the latest release or any previous version of the product. If you
prefer 4.5, then that is what you will get.

They do specify the version though on their site. It says 5.0 but that is just the page that decribes the product. On the page where you buy, the version is not mentioned. So, it is a bit confusing, but you are buying a key and can use it with either 4.5 or 5.0 and get full support for either.

Another question: how can I use the extended database with KAV 4.5?

 

click on update then tick box"change settings" next click "+" next to update from internet click on little grey "block"(best description I could think of!) you should now see a list of the update servers right click on each one choose modify an add "_ext" to the end of each one(hope these instructions are clear enough to follow)

v4.5.0.104
