No, I did uninstall and never install. Working fine here all major updates.
same here, once uninstalled, gone for good.
I never got it reinstalled by it's own also.
IDK what would happen if I upgraded from let's say v.20 to v.21 when it's released. I usually perform clean install for major upgrades (once a year) and then remove KSC after installation.
I saw VPN reappear on several customer machines, after version upgrade,
so I assumed it was reinstalled.
Eventually the customers got a pop up, and where advised to install VPN...
For sure there are pop ups, that advise to install the password manager.
is it heavy on resources like the previous versions were with rootkits scans? especially disk I/O , I want the option on but not as heavy on the system as it were before
No, it is not.
I tried Avira, Norton, Eset, Quick Heal, but still, Kaspersky is going good and system seems to be happy with it.
Kaspersky 126.96.36.1995 | Patch j
► Kaspersky release note
Thank you for heads up. Updated it to patch J with no problems.
EDIT: after update it seems to me that webpages are loading faster, but it could be only my imagination.
Just an update from my side: after second restart UI started to crash on me ( something to do with .NET if I check system error logs). So for time being I had to uninstall KIS.
EDIT: I reinstalled previous version and will se how goes update of latest patch if I don't force it.
How do you force to update to a new patch! Thanks.
I've sent you PM.
Thank you, I backup all day long. Stay safe.
Just a follow up on this old post. I reinstalled KIS today with installer that got last patch included (patch J) and KSC was still installed by default. I hope that they will remove it when they release 2021 installer.
You can remove KSC after installation too. not finding too tough.
thanks for the heads-up. i hope so too. it should be optional.
Yes, I know. We were just discussing in past that making it as optional installation (like Password manger) would be much better approach. I just prefer to have less bloat installed.
Agreed. The problem is they are trying to up sell KSC. You can't make money on something that doesn't get installed.

How to make Kaspersky Internet Security get along with Steam
Kaspersky 184.108.40.2065 | Patch 'L'
► Kaspersky release notes
In patch L:
We have updated the License agreement for compliance with GDPR requirements.
We have fixed the vulnerability through which protection could be disabled.
We have fixed some application issues.
Thanks for the info. Due to the fact that TAM (Trusted Application Mode) will not be part of KIS 21 (info taken from the MT folks), I guess I will stick with version 2020 as long as it is supported by KL. It is true that TAM can be emulated with certain strict KIS/KTS settings, but I still think it's a shame KL has removed this useful feature.
Any comments on the administrative features in the Kasperky family cloud version?
