Better get back to work and learning
before I end up forgetting everything I've been taught!

Uguel, Thanks for the offer. I am checking out that thread veryyyyyyy slowly.

OK Eldar here goes noth'in ......... learning the fonts http://tcwozere.co.uk/smileys/scratchhead.gif

OK!!!! I've been having a little discussion with this 'Font" thing

This is what I've done so far........

Made the pic backround the yellow red color. (didn't want to cut off Alicia's arm so I did the star thing.

Then, clicked on the "A" thing
Then, chose the font, size, and direction of the font I was wanting.
(I chose size 24 wasn't sure if that was too big)

Then I played with the pixel thing~not sure why........cuz you told me too :D

So I have that set on 126.2 (sounds big to me)~~I don't knowhttp://img116.exs.cx/img116/934/z0tdntknw.gif

Anyway so I typed the words I wanted "Mommy's Goof~Balls"
Chose a blueish color for the font~(I think)

(your shaking your head and putting it in your hands right now!! And rolling your eyes!! Aren't you??
http://bestsmileys.com/anxious/4.gif

LOLOLOL!!! I would be!! if I were you!!

So, the little discussion the font thing and I were having is......

I would say "apply the font!"

And it would say "Text Entry"

I would say in my head, "I did the text entry!"
and then I would politly retype "Mommy's Goof~Balls"

Now this was fun the first 20 times

ITS NOT FUN ANYMORE!! [IMG]

I told it what I wanted........does it keep forgetting or what!!!

So then just to be nasty!!
it would put this ugly blue splatter on my pretty pic [IMG] [IMG]

So this is what I came up with~~ LOL~~ I get the feeling I haven't passed this lesson yet, ya think!! LOL

Oh yea, just ignore the octagon out-line and the circle outline and the little mess up around the right side of the circle

That's the effect I was going for!! LOLOLOL

 What? I normally choose between 2 and 5 pixels, but no more. It's simply unreadable if you set it bigger. :D
To change the font color, you've to highlight the text you want to insert.
Highlighting one part of the text at the time, you can achieve nice colorful texts
I'm shaking my head, yes.
Don't worry, every beginning has his ups and downs. We'll get there.
First try out the text on a blank picture and apply the lesson I posted.
Only text this time.
If need be, I'll post a lesson with step by step instructions. ;)

Great picture Cindy, apart from the blue mistake.

No problem Cindy! :)
I know there is a lot to learn with PSP. ANW, I found that PSP9 version harder than PSP7, the program is bigger and a bit buggier ..... The best advice I can give you for any work or tutorial that you are doing is: "SAVE OFTEN". There's not much worse than losing your work due to PSP crashing or a computer glitch. ;)

http://img118.exs.cx/img118/1691/hug8ok.gif

So, when the text is highlighted.......its asking me what color I want it??

OK!!!

And did ya tell me what a "Text Tool" was?? Must have forgot http://www.foroedonkey.com/vb/images/smilies/pensando.gif

I forgot to tell you, that I did get the red rectangle box on my picture OK. (Just thought I'd let ya know http://img108.exs.cx/img108/5527/i1lsmile.gif http://img115.exs.cx/img115/9916/z4dwink.gif

Didn't want to think I was totally lost.

Must be my habit of being First Aid at Informatics at my work, as well as taking care of my boys. :D
See picture below.
Also when you hover over a tool it will give you the description. :)
A red rectangular box? Maybe a screenshot will help to see what you mean by that.
I wish I could give you lessons in person, but it's too far a distance. :doubt:
A lot of problems lately. I hope it will work out. See you later. ;)

You know that rectangle box with the ants that shows up on your picture to put the text on it. The one that has the little circles on the corners.....that you can pull and stretch[IMG]

]quote]Maybe a screenshot will help to see what you mean by that.
 That's long.
Thanks for that excellent explanation. Like we say in Dutch: "Mijne frank is juist gevallen", meaning I got it.
No screenshot necessary. :D ;)

That's great, BeetleBoss!! You are doing just fine!

That's the great part of PSP, if you don't like it, you can undo it a whole bunch:eek: of times!!! So, as long as you saved a copy of the original in .pspimage (you did do that right? :D), you can do it any ole way your big heart desires some other time!!

You can change it as long as you haven't saved it, (I think? Better let the Xperts tell ya more! :) )

Have fun playin!

Marja:cool:

Excellent Cindy. :D
Nice frames and lots of fun too.
Are you up to the next lesson? ;)
You're really improving. It's a great picture.
Quite right Marja. ;)
What I do is save it as a PSP, without merging it, so I can see all the Layers when re-opening it afterwards.
Afterwards I merge and save as JPG. :)
Once you merge and save (and close the picture) you can't revert anything. :doubt:

Well here's the next lesson. :D

It's a neat trick.

1. Open a picture of your choice
2. Go to Selections > Select All
3. Again Selections > Modify > Contract and set the number of pixels to 15 or 20
4. Again Selections > Modify Feather and set pixels to 15
5. Go to Edit > Copy
6. Go to Edit > Paste > Paste as new image

You may close your first picture now.

From now on you can add a frame/border or none at all. :)
