Yes Daniel, thezman's question was asked before, but the answers given in your referenced thread (including the one by Frederic) skirted the issue! :doubt:

    Hello,

In the same website, one of the worst is Ashampoo FireWall PRO. Go to the Ashampoo website and look at the rewards !
If you aren't a computer scientist, it's very difficult to know which is the best firewall for you.

...And that's probably why so many users find leak tests important, they choose the firewall that passes the most tests.

Me TOO.... [FINALLY happy!!!] ALL the other ...erm.... top.. FW's don't even come close to LnS.. ["leak tests for choosing FW" ....hahaha]

Was gonna detail a bit of my testing of other FW's.. Then went... hey, I learned this on the back of over 20 years of geekdom... [READ: able to concentrate/study for days on end ....hehehe]

Hard to condense to a few lines.

LnS is PURE firewall.... The PURE/LIGHT PC GUI [no tarting up with graphics thank you] and I am amazed that the feature set is actually MASTERABLE.... It makes me actually WANT to learn what I don't know about 'traffic' ...
And there's nothin' it can't do... [yet incredibly works without grief upon install...

For example I GAVE UP [rare for me] trying to get VMware to see the net 'bridged' with all but ONE other FW, and it was SO unintuitive and weird when I finally got a working rule ...

Though with LnS... hey, figured it out myself in record time, and it DID make total sense, which just added to the magic feeling LnS gives ME.

I'm So lovin' it..... it's REALLY made MY week... and it's been 3 days now that I've been a TOTAL believer... [after days upon days of rethinking when outpost proved hellish - ok, I'll drop some names.. jetico/outpost/zone alarm/comodo ALL hugely flawed, especially if one wants to dig in and TRULY understand, and LnS didn't put me at risk during this process of study/evaluating.]

[ALL the above is >> in MY opinion]

    Great[est] work! LARGE[est] thanks.

P.S. I get VERY passionate about apps that are, light/not sexed up/ and well...totally ROCK... [had to add that]
And hey, the importance of knowing your firewall? We all agree on that one...yes?
I'm enjoying learning about packets/traffic and stuff again!!!
