Jetico making me crazy.

    That is when I active uTorrent, the log block the inbound packet :

    That is when I stop uTorrent, hte log block the outbound packet :

    with unticked block rules



    I just changed all port together to see if it work with another kind of port. But all my port are the same during the action.

    O.K.,..... These are "All not Processed IP Packets", which means there is no rule (to allow or block)
    When you first started Utorrent, and you where given a popup (for Utorrent), did you select "Handle as" and then select the Utorrent rules?

    I didnt, but it doesn't show me the windows to do so. I don't know how to do then.
    Another thing, should I leave "rules block" untick and the "Allow outbound" or not ?

    O.K. no problem,... we now know where the problem is.
    Put the Utorrent rules back to how they where. It does look like we may need to add a rule,.. but we can do that later, once you are connecting correctly.

    First of all, open Jetico, and look at the "ask user" and remove any rules that are there for Utorrent:-

    Well I manage to set the rules for uTorrent (but it still doesn't work). Let me know the following, I'm hot xD

    There is the log now, when uTorrent is runing (with "block" rules tick and still the Allow ounbound port in the rules) :

    Please for now follow instructions, or we will be going in circles all day.

    Clean out the "ask user" as mentioned in my last post.

    Check that your router is port forwarding the correct port, check your Jetico rules that both "inbound" rules are set to the same port as the router. Then check the port within Utorrent, that the port is set the same.

    Then, run Utorrent:

    You should be given a popup for Utorrent "access to network":

    I did 2 times all you explained me, correctly. But it don't want to work. Anyway, thanks for the help you brought me. I'll find another way to solve the problem. Once again, thanks a lot.

    I would suggest that you start your rulesets again, revert to "factory settings",.. and then follow the prompts.
    It is a good firewall, but can take a little time to learn.

    I finally accept it in "safe zone" and the port test works. Is it dangerous if I have a Freebox router to accept it in the "safe zone" ?
    The problem now is that I can get datas well, but sending them seems not possible wich means that I can't dl fast (it is the utorrent's rules) so what can I do ?

    Do you mean "trusted zone"?
    The router will block unsolicited inbound connections,... but Jetico SPI will not filter the packets, which could lead to problems, (such as your connections being re-set / bad packets being accepted)
    If you have placed the application within the "trusted zone" (by setting a jump) then the Utorrent rules should not be used,... unless you have left other rules for the Utorrent client within the "ask user", which are placed before the jump to "trusted zone"

    Hi again. ^^

    Well as it is dangerous, I delete it from trusted zone.
    So I've looking for many hours, creating new rules, etc and it doesn't work. It is still not understandable and I am sad. :blink:
    Should I kill myself or what ? :isay:

    Yes I did, I even reinstall Jetico (after cleaning well).
    Don't worry, I followed what you said, but it doesn't work.
    Now, if I accept it in "trusted zone", and I only open one port with my router, you think is not a good idea.
    So I don't know what I could do. :°)

    Follow my instructions to set up Utorrent/Jetico rules,... run Utorrent, at the Jetico prompt "Handle as" Utorrent,... then post logs for any blocked packets. (make sure you clear the log before starting)

    After revert the setting to factory setting,
    After set your rules for uTorrent and put it in "Optimal Policy",
    After Handle it as "uTorrent" rules and tick "remember my answer",
    After cleaning my logs,

    First,.. clear the logs again,.. then go to "system internet zone", and untick "block fragmented packets"
    Then try again,.....

    This is NETbios,... do you connect to other PC`s on your network to share files,.. if not, then block this.

    I unticked "Deny all fragmented packet" in internet zone,
    I cleaned the log,
    My port is still blocked,
    And after runing a torrent, the logs are :

    Sorry, I don't get what you mean by untick the uTorrent block rule :?
    Btw, it's boring so what do you think if I stop the FW when I dl utorrent (with a P2P guardian+router) and I reactive it when I don't dl ?^^


    Ps : Could Service Pack 2 be likely to block uTorrent with Jetico ? ( I heard Jetico and Sp2 didnt get on well )

    The block rule at the end of the Utorrent ruleset
    I am sorry you are bored. You are either setting up incorrectly, or you have conflict on the PC. If you are going to simply disable Jetico when using P2P, then I would suggest using a different firewall.

    I dont use XP very much, mainly only for testing software/firewalls., but I have used Jetico on XP with no problems.

    @Stem, I set it up correctly, and I'm sure about it. ;) A conflict on the pc ? Of what, heh. I don't think so. So I'll keep on using Jetico, and I'll also turn it off when I'll dl .torrent, with a router and a Peerguardian.
