Nonsense, what a nonsense. If there's someone to blame it's Apple for not making proper security defense for protecting their users' data.

I agree with you. But some team of lawyers will get rich. I wonder what ever happened to common sense, like don't take nude selfie's of yourself and store them in the cloud in the first place. The celebrity's should be responsible for their own actions in my opinion.

No one is responsible for their own actions anymore, honestly. If you keep nudes on the server of someone else and they get stolen, it is not your fault for storing them online. If your password is horrible and you get your account hacked, it is not your fault. Do something stupid, anything stupid, and it is not your fault. It just goes on and on like this because society has made it far too easy to sue and get paid for your troubles. I do not see how Google can be held responsible for anything, much less sued. They should not even care about it. And I have bad news for these celebrities, no matter how much they yell and sic their lawyers on people, those pictures will now never go away. Once all this dies down, the pictures will slowly start being uploaded again and still exist on P2P networks and little no-name websites across the world. What will they do, call the NSA? They are known to siphon and trade nude pics around, so good luck. These celebrities need to just accept that the pictures got put out there, and if they would just shush up about it and stop making threats, eventually the public will no longer care and lives can be gone on with. I am willing to bet that the majority of the public never cared to begin with.

Beyond a notable handful of celebrities, a good portion of the photos are fake to begin with. Celebrity "nudes" has been a popular thing since the very early 90s, starting of course with Cindy Crawford topless. I still remember watching pictures load for almost a full minute back then. I think people are also confused about the amount of photos that this latest hack released. It is nowhere near "thousands", even if you include the fakes. In fact, I truly believe if you counted up all of the legitimate nudes released from that point in time to now, you still could not come up with "thousands". Duplicates of the same photos do not count.

More shocking would be leaked photos of top celebs fully clothed.

Oh and that "shocking" video of Paris Hilton upset the poor deflowered girl so much that she immediatly sued for a percentage of the sales....boo hoo...boo hoo:'(...Kerching!:)

If these had been videos, these celebrities would have been insane not to cash in. In many cases, they would make more off of their sex tapes than they do in their acting careers. That especially applies to females who, by the age of 40+ are already start getting less attention in Hollywood. So, according to rumors going around, we have had our first nude male leak...Nick Hogan. And the world gave absolutely no cares whatsoever, hehe. By the way, do not go looking for those should you be so inclined. The fool kept every picture of his conquests since high school, so there are evidently a lot of underage pictures included.

There needs to be a serious level of history research, apparently. There are nudes of Lucille Ball from 1930. There are nudes from Hedy Lamarr's 1933 film Ekstase. Good grief - nudes have been part of so-called art, probably since God invented dirt and the stick. The 'shock' of having nude photos leaked started about 2 months after Mathew Brady was combing his beard. If the arrogance of humans pretends their outrage is based on "this is all new technology", this only shows the stupidity of their education.

There hasn't been a year of photography without nudes being taken and 'leaked' or shown to an unexpected/unintended audience. Any belief that this wouldn't occur has to be among the zenith of mongoloidal reasonings.

What kind of talentless excuse for a human being would have base their future career on some tawdry,tacky,dismal,10th rate shakey video that they somehow unknowingly made previously with some dribbling, moronic, lunk head ?

Who`s Nick Hogan ? I can only hope you didn`t mean Hulk Hogan.

    Totally agee.:thumb:

See? They seem to treating this problem with the wrong approach. Sue Apple, that is how you are supposed to do this.

Son of Hulk Hogan from the link provided by hqsec it looks like. Yeah yeah, I don't know much about Hollywood these days. Are you happy now, people?

A good portion of the "reality stars" these days have little issue with leaked videos of them bumping up their bank accounts. Bad publicity is better than none, after all. Speaking of the Hogan family, Hulk too had his video leaked a few years back. All he did was grunt about it a little bit and then moved on. As far as nude releases being old, certainly they are. But the advent of the internet has made it easier to spread and, therefore, the interest has spiked. Back in Lucille Ball's day, the entire world was not going to be seeing "the goods" within 24 hours of being put out there. Back then such things could also ruin a career.

Well that was a good shot in the dark i.e. the son of the Hulk and there was me thinking he was some latest talent show heart throb or something. Isn`t the Hulk a bit long in the moustache for grunty video leaks ?

Not so long ago the fashion appeared to be practicing the art of getting out of a car in the most inappropriate way in order to reveal all to the waiting papperazzi. I just cant imagine the likes of Betty Davis carrying on like this under any circumstances.

Then again it was Andy Worhol who prophesised a lot of this contempary culture glamourising the bland through repetitive images untill you actually start believing them to be of worth. His 15 minutes of stardom in everyone is now down to about 2 minutes if that these days.

What ever happened to the stalkers that used to be all the rage not much heard off these days. Celebes even perverted this by grading each other on the amount of stalkers each attracted.

The leaked videos scenario is probably now just a regular normallity, a first step on the road to stardom or a reminder to the public that your still news worthy.

Well I`m off with my blonde wig and fake tash with my 80`s video camera to locate Hulk Hogan and I will be getting out of the taxi legs akimbo and grunting.

    Regards Eck:)

I remember the car shots quite well, hehe. Paris Hilton seemed to be the queen of that fad. The stalkers are still out and about, though much more dangerous these days what with being able to track their prey digitally. A lot of those old stars had their skeletons, but no, they would not have actively sought to act the way they do these days. Like I said earlier though, Hollywood would have thrown them out on their rear ends had they tried. If something did happen, they went into CIA mode to try and hide it all. Now its a right of passage to become TMZ front page news. More on topic though, this will all pass soon enough, until the next leak.

Sharing of intimate images and video is now widely accepted as a normal aspect of relationships. Dissemination of such is obviously abusive, but otherwise it's not a big deal.

And that is why humans are a failed product, among many other things. But since it's not the job for us to comment on that subject, I would just (still) blaming Apple for not taking security seriously. If this was the users' bank account passwords that were leaked then this would give a more adversing impact.

You're quite the pessimist :doubt: But then, so am I, in different realms. Anyway, this I see as evidence for human adaptability. Technological change is exponential. The next few decades will be mind boggling.
That's an interesting point. Back in the day, the major impact of revealed indiscretions was loss of social capital. Loss of honor often required suicide. Vulnerable victims in restrictive environments are still at risk. But in the global Internet, such unfortunate local customs are disappearing.

She really needs to examine her head. I understand her anger, she has a right to be mad over this. But she needs reminded that had those photos not been stored in a service whose security she had not the first clue about, or stored anywhere but her own home for that matter, none of this would have happened. It is also very very stupid and borderline offensive to label a completely avoidable act as a sex crime and label those who viewed the photos..millions of people..as sexual predators. Those viewers did not harm her, the hackers did. And they could not have harmed her if she had kept her naked butt away from her iPhone.
