What an interesting thread! If only being able to "out-think" others was a guarantee of survival & happiness... And if only we could always think as clearly as we do when considering familiar subjects!

For every person we're smarter (have a higher IQ) than, surely there's at least one other who can out-think us...give or take. It's important to remember that, IMO. Confidence is an asset provided one doesn't have too much of it. :D I'm not saying anybody here has too much, but by the time I was 17 yrs. old, I sure did! ;)

o_O Jimbob: My young friend you have received some good advice on this thread, but I must also warn you. Self confidence is a good thing, but arrogance is not, the line between the two is thin. The two can be obtained at a young age, the one should be embraced while the other rejected. It is good friends who will tell you when you have used the inappropriate one, and you should not be offended by their words. Women are wonderful creatures, but there is not a man on this planet who fully understands them, but what fun trying.

    Thanks
    wildman

And the reverse: men are also wonderful creatures, though not a woman on this planet fully understands them. The fun of trying, when shared in a partnership of equals, is what life is ultimately about for people who choose that path.

 Ah as the French would say "viva la difference". When one know there are differences, excepts that fact and tries to understand the other, they have achieved the best possible harmony. Let us know from time to time how the pursuit of that certain young lady is developing. I am sure there are many of us who wish you the best of luck. Jimbob: Just a thought, perhaps there is a young lady in pursuit of you.

    Thanks
    wildman
