What an interesting thread! If only being able to "out-think" others was a guarantee of survival & happiness... And if only we could always think as clearly as we do when considering familiar subjects!

For every person we're smarter (have a higher IQ) than, surely there's at least one other who can out-think us...give or take. It's important to remember that, IMO. Confidence is an asset provided one doesn't have too much of it. I'm not saying anybody here has too much, but by the time I was 17 yrs. old, I sure did!
