[Summary NortonIS appears to be conflicting with TI9] Well this weekend i've actually sat down and approached TI9 incramentally trying to identify where its falling over for me. Using my test rig gave it a simple setup of 2x 200gb Maxtor 10 drives both SATA and both NTFS. 0. Formatted Primary Drive (Brand new) 1. Installed Windows XP Pro (INC SP2) 2. Installed Mobo Drivers, network Drivers , gfx drivers etc latest versions. Including flash to latest Bios for Mobo ( ASUS A8N SLI). 3. Installed TI9. 4. Backed up primary HDD to secondary drive. 5. Checked Archive - PASS : Plug Archive - PASS (inc file recovery) : Restore Acrhive - PASS. 6. Patched Windows with all critical updates. 7. Repeated Steps 4 + 5 - All PASS. 8. Installed Norton Internet Security (Firewall + Norton Anti Virus) and patched up. 9. Backed up Primary HDD. 10. Checked Archive - FAIL : Plug Archive - PASS (inc file recovery) : Restore Archive - NOT DONE. 11. Disabled NAV and NIS - Repeated steps 9 + 10 - Same result FAIL. 12. Uninstalled NIS Completely. 13 Checked Archive produced in step 9 - FAIL - same thing 14 Backed up primary HDD again without NIS installed. 15 Checked Archive - FAIL : Plug Archive - PASS (inc file recovery) : Restore Acrhive - FAIL. I've installed loads of stuff now and can't be bothered testing further - Ideally I should reinstall a clean TI9 image prior to installing NIS and try that but I've had enough now and i'm gonna play some games . So it seems like installing NIS caused TI9 to start creating corrupt backups? even unistalling NIS didn't change anything so possibly its a registry entry that NIS makes that NIS doesn't change back when it unistalls. Anyone found TI9 to work ok with NIS2003?
