Help, I've run both Ad-aware and Spybot and still keep getting pop-ups the second I run IE. It's so frustrating. Please help.

    Hi rvgodlewski,

    Download and run: http://www.memorywatcher.com/uninst.exe
The program needs internet access to finish.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SearchBar.htm
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaults/sp/sbcydsl/*http://www.yahoo.com

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus.../sbcydsl/*http://www.yahoo.com/search/ie.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaults/sp/sbcydsl/*http://www.yahoo.com

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaults/su/sbcydsl/*http://www.yahoo.com
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/ie/defaults/su/sbcydsl/*http://www.yahoo.com

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinUpdate] C:\windows\list.hta

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IPInSightLAN 02] "C:\PROGRAM FILES\VISUAL NETWORKS\VISUAL IP INSIGHT\SBC\IPClient.exe" -l
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IPInSightMonitor 02] "C:\PROGRAM FILES\VISUAL NETWORKS\VISUAL IP INSIGHT\SBC\IPMon32.exe"

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [4xo9] C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\4XO9.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [42HNQFX5S@X5SW] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Xek8.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Bakra] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IEHost.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Dsi] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DP-HIM.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vrmslexeugren] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\txltbqtt.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoLoaderr0sq1IckWLPI] "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CKC8CM67.EXE" /HideUninstall
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [r73W36h] MDMIEW32.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinTools] C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\WToolsA.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [WinTools] C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\WToolsA.exe

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ClockSync] C:\PROGRA~1\CLOCKS~1\Sync.exe /q

    Then reboot into safe mode
    and delete:
    C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools <= entire folder
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IEHost.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DP-HIM.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\txltbqtt.exe

Then (still in safe mode) use the Disk Cleanup Utility to empty all your Temp folder.

Then find C:\windows\list.hta and rename it to list.txt
Please attach the file or post the content when you return.

    Regards,

    Pieter

I can only find "C:\windows\list.hta" as C:\my documents\list.hta. I don't know what this is but here's the properties:
    list.txt
    type:HTML Application
    location:C:\My Documents
    MS-Dos name: listtx~1.HTA
It's a shorcut of some sorts to C:\windows\list.hta. When I try to open, it tries to open but nothing happens.

Also now I am having trouble with a www.exexex.com and pornosayac.com site changing my home page on IE. Please help!!
    Thanks.

    Download and run CWShredder
Use the Fix button and follow the instructions provided by the program.

Could you try and mail me the list.hta you found?
Please send it to pieterATwilderssecurity.org (replace AT with @)

    Regards,

    Pieter
