hi, i've been a poster on the net-intergration forum board for some time, but they seem to get swamped from time to time and this issue is one i'd like to try and resolve A.S.A.P.

I think the viewpoint media stuff has infected my machine and i'm getting all sorts of homepage hijackers and TONS of popups and other stuff.

Here's the most recent HJT log that I have. I have Spybot, Ad-aware, CW shredder, BHO demon installed and have run them all regarding this problem. Please check this log and let me know what I should delete.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

    Fix these two :

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://searchexe.com/passthrough/in...p://www.msn.com
    O1 - Hosts: 207.36.196.189 ieautosearch

    Then open registry :

press start -> run -> type regedit and press enter

    Then do ctrl+f

In the searchbox copypaste : 'searchexe' and press enter

    Rightclick+remove all entries found

    Press F3 to find next

    restart after doing so

    Keep us posted

    Cheers,

Latest log, still getting a lot of pop-ups

Hi, i've had the google toolbar installed this whole time i've been having trouble and the pop up blocker is not keeping all these random pop-ups and automatic downloads from happening.

WHENEVER i'm connected to the internet, random programs and pop-ups keep downloading and installing before i can stop them.

is google toolbar junk? should i get rid of it for something else?

i will post my newest log after taking the advice from previous posts.

there are a few things from the log that don't look right to me:

    ARE THESE THINGS BAD?
COULD THEY BE CAUSING ALL THE POP-UPS? WHAT DO I DELETE TO STOP THIS?! o_O

Nothing wrong with the entries listed, in fact, some of them are VERY necessary in order to keep your PC running ;)

Googletoolbar is no junk, but perhaps your security settings are too low,

Here is a good read how to be better protected :
