An Avecto survey of over 500 individuals from Europe, the United Arab Emirates and the United States revealed that, while some organisations have already migrated to Windows 10 and are using the move as a catalyst to improve their security posture, many are lagging behind and don’t understand the potential risks of the migration.

Specifically, the survey highlighted global uncertainty about Windows 7 end of life. 31% of respondents believed that it had already occurred, while only 30% knew the correct date (officially January 2020).

When asked about their readiness for Windows 10, over 50% of respondents believed that their organization was ready for the Windows 10 migration. However, 44% were unsure about their preparation plans [...]

The survey results demonstrate how there is still much work to be done as organizations prepare for Windows 7 end of life.
