Is Unlocker 1.8.8 infected?

    The author's page has disappeared (which makes this more suspicious) but you can download the file from Filehippo or CNET. Virustotal shows 4/41

    There is a thread about unlocker around here.
    I have 1.8.8 since it was released,when i installed it i just check explorer extension...
    Working great,no adware ,no bugs..at least on my PC's.
    Again i just checked explorer extension during install..no extra's

    Hitman and/or Prevx would mark unlocker as a virus on my PC. I always considered it a FP, as I have used the program for a few years now.

    Thats the Ebay shortcut, just an Adware, dont check to install Ebay shortcut while installing and you will be completely ok.

    Gee, ya think the authors page is down due to lack of funding? Unlocker by itself is still a popular utility in the tech community.

    It seems clear that it's a FP then. I'll report this to MS, so that MSE doesn't flag it as malware.

    I wonder the author is still maintaining the app, since his website disappeared.

    After reading the last thread on Ver 1.8.8 I CK the Program File + there was a EBAY Shortcut there. I deleted it.
