hi, i sometimes download torrents from here and here. i emailed amber to ask if she'd put the checksum for the video, not the torrent, saying i'd download them more often if she did. but i think she thought i was mad

so is there a way to check the integrity of the downloaded file? or are the way torrents work pretty safe? i'm fairly sure the torrent checks the checksum when it starts the download so are torrents from trusted sites always safe? the only time it wouldn't be safe is if the server was hacked? but you wouldn't know that anyway  so are torrents safe from "trusted" sites or not?

OK what i mean is this - which is safer the direct download from here or the file the torrent downloads?
