I'm looking for a free program that'll monitor my total bandwidth used (up/down) and will log it (IE: so at the end of the month I can see my how much bandwidth I have used.) Is there any program that can do this? (that is free?)

I am using Net Meter for the last 6 months and see no alarms with either Avast, Anti Vir, Clam AV or Bit Defender so has to be a false alarm.

i like to trust F-Secure, Ewido, TDS, TH, BitDefender, a², adema, aswclnr-1.exe, Stinger, Sysclean, F-Prot, KProcCheck.exe, Frisk, rkdetector.exe, Unhackme and the 15 scanners at Jottis. and then following the actions of the exe with Filmon, Regmon, WinHex and a packet sniffer

    Anyway:)
I installed netmeter to another computer which is used for downloading only, and also protected by Nod32 2.50 only. Installed without any alert..

really, when i said it was a F/P (false positive) i wasn't joking, or saying it to make me feel better. it was because the program is a great program and doesn't deserve that treatment. and i tested it too to make sure it is clean

anyway, i let Mcafee know i thought they were confusing netmeter with the virus netmeter.exe by Opistat. this is my email to them.

this is the reply Removed. Please don't post confidential support emails on the forum. Ron

so it seems they don't get an alert from the download. maybe you can send them an email to virus_research(at)nai.com quoting mine and their quotes to let them know how you managed to get your results? and what the results were? and which definitions you used and the scan engine too.?

quote this thread and go through the things marked in bold in their reply.

    The file is clean!

McAfee detects parts of this installation (self extracting installer) wrongly as a generic downloader.
