I purchased a Nintendo WiFi USB connector access point. Since the
Nintendo DS only supports WEP, using this USB dongle is the only way I
can play online with my Nintendo DS. The USB dongle is pretty simple to
use, you just plug it in, install the software, and when a Nintendo DS
trys to connect, you allow it access. What I am confused about though
is how does the USB dongle limit access to just Nintendo devices, this
being the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii.

Anyone know if there are any security issues with using a USB dongle
    like this?

Side note, the USB dongle is manufactured by Buffalo if that helps.

    Hi slimmonkey,
    i have that dongle also.
i couldnt get it to work with my old router and havent tryed since.
i have also wondered how it can limit it to nintendo devices only.
btw the nintendo wii supports wpa tsk encrytion.
i have set the secuirty on my router to use wpa tsk encrytion and the nintendo wii works fine with it.
i might install the dongle for when i want to use the ds online thou since i dont really wanna use wep encytion on the router just to use the DS
