    @mantra,
    I'm not sure whether or not a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation includes the file api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.
    If Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable is not installed, installing 'recommended' update KB3118401, Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows, may provide api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll.
    On a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation, with both Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable and KB3118401 not installed, api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll might not be present. But I am not sure.
    To be sure, others would need to do a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation without installing 'recommended' update KB3118401, or Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, to see if there is no api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll present.

    I'm sorry, I don't know. Perhaps someone else knows, or, as I said, someone else would need to do a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation, to see what is and what isn't included.

    To me, a clean installation is an installation without any additional software installed.
    In a strict sense, a clean Windows SP1 installation would be without any of the updates.
    To me, a clean Windows installation is an offline installation, so that I'm sure nothing is installed in addition.

    As you say "on my w7 i have really few softwares installed", if you have any additional software installed, I would say it is not a truly clean installation.
    But that doesn't matter, as you say api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is not present on your installation.

    Question 1:
    Why is it so important to you to know whether or not api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is present on a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation?
    I would think, if it isn't there, then it's probably not essential, and that would be fine with me.

    Question 2:
    If you installed updates on your Windows 7 SP1 installation, did you install 'recommended' update KB3118401, Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows?
    If you did, or do, that update may provide api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll, if I am not mistaken.

    Yes, I understand.
    But why did you check for api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll?
    Why would api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll be relevant on a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation?

    I'm not sure, but I think api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll may not be present on a clean Windows 7 SP1 installation by default.
    Because of the information in the KB3118401 knowledge base article, I presume Universal C Runtime (CRT) is not in Windows 7 SP1 by default, but can be introduced with Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable or with installing 'recommended' update KB3118401.

    Ah, now I understand.
    I guess installing KB3118401 and/or(?) Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable would help.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.
