True, but have a look at the freebie PowerBroker what is it: a snap in of mmc. GeSWall console can als be set as a snap in of mmc. Both are aps which manage policies. Lead developer is now a visionairy developer at BeyondTrust. GeSWall was his first baby, so I would not be surprised to see a combo of leakwall and powerbroker as first result, next step add some extra GeSWall like protection on browsers.

Last months they put all effort in Leakwall, reason was obvious the take over by Trust Beyond. I would not be so pessimistic on free version, trust beyond currently provides a 5 client freebie for Power Broker, which works fine on a single machine also.

Leakwall is also free for 5 clients, so maybe some parts of GeSWall will also be free for 5 clients in the future. I can't imagine that they won't use all the knowledge acquired through the development of GeSWall.

So I would download the hack to get gpedit.msc on home premium versions (discussed somewhere on wilders), just to keep this option open for the future

    Regards Kees

I would buy for GesWall, if the want to if they continue to develop. It's my preferred sandboxing software: powerful and granular. Hope someone of Trust Beyond read here !

I always believed GW more powerful and safe than SBIE; and I find GW downloaded files management more useful than SBIE.

    Agree!

I've used Geswall for 2-years now - nothing has gotten by it,period. To see it end this way,is a total waste! :thumbd:

I do love geswall. The only reason I don't use it now is the issue with UAC. I may start using it again once my sandboxie license is up.

If you use Defense+ - or a like HIPS - you don't need UAC.

Why? That's contrary to Defense+'s security scheme, which is to restrict applications wherever possible.

How is that contrary to D+'s security scheme?
