Here is some news, maybe it is elsewhere:

I ran BD Antivirus 10's rootkit finder and up popped a hidden process:

    C:\Program Files\iolo\Common\Lib\ioloDMVSvc.exe Hiddenprocess

To confirm/verify I ran F-Secure BlackLight as well, same thing showed up.

So, here's the fun part: I used SM 7 program start and running tools to disable the process in two places. Ran the tests again and it is gone!

Rebooted, and SM 7 still works fine, and the rootkit did not reappear!

I emailed a SR to iolo a few days back questioning in my usual blunt style and they have not yet replied except for the canned please scan our FAQ section.

My question is how do we as the users paying good money deserve to have this sort of thing arrive with our purchase! Is there a place where we can find a master list of GOOD products that don't do stuff like this? Sort of a good housekeeping seal of approval or BBB. If there is one I should know it but I don't!
