why obsolete ?

 

The free version they offer is an old version?

 

I can't find it on their site so i guess its gone.Are they offering a free version ? Anyway i'm not interested ,as said i found no benefit from these thingies.
Some years ago i was in search of utilities to beef up photoshop performance so i tryed many of them,all to no avail,there were some that actualy degrade performance.So next thing is hope that Adobe will fix this long lingering problem with their own memory handling in upcoming releases.

 

Yes but the paid for version costs less than lunch - so skip lucj one day next week and get Ultimate defrag - not because of the way it defrags - they all do much the same but because of the way little used data can be archived - making the whole process much better than the IObit smart defrag.

I do like IObit smart but their defrag is nothing special. Using advanced windows care 2 on a clean system the optimze feature takes 10 seconds off a reboot time. There is a measurable benefit here. So when version 3 finally works, so that the Firefox profile can be found on anther drive, I will almost certianly use it - BUT not the defrag.

 

A disk defrag is a good idea based on how often your computer is used. It can allow faster access to programs by removing fragmented files. Of course, it is a good idea to clean out your computer before you defrag. About once a month, I like to clean my drive, registry and startup items with CCleaner, uninstall any unwanted programs and finally defrag. There is a benefit and frankly, it should be considered something you need to do. The hard drive also has more working parts then anything else on your PC, hence its the most frequent part to fail, another reason beyond performance to clean and dfrag.

 

If you REPEAT the defragmentation with Smart Defrag - you multiply the performance of Windows!

With Solid State drives about to take off about a good time to be a defrag seller then ? No moving parts, no heat and must not be defragged.

 

Well, windows has a disk defragmenter built in, at issue is whether it is good enough, that is why there are so many off springs of disk defragmentors. I look forward to the day we do not need to defrag!

 

Hmmm, let me give that a try here.

I have run programs, even scanners where the second time showed better results......Windows interference maybe? Dunno, but won't hurt to turn another pass with Smart Defrag, then compare with my obsolete DiskTrix ULTIMATEDEFRAG 2008

Funny it was never added to the compare list so i assume it's not suitable enough?

After defragmentation with Advanced SystemCare 3 ( Beta ) - I analyse with Windows Defragment and I compare the results ...

 

I can not believe,my computer is working faster than before.This is like magic.I was using Auslogics defrag before.But I will use smart defrag after today.

 

Hello Majorgeeks, my post was about memory optimisers,i'm with you what you said in your last post.

 

DiskTrix is great even though they're god knows how late with their boot time degrag module :x
