I presume that is the lowest rating they give.

It has a 5 star user rating at Major Geeks. I've got no idea why.

Do they actually test its malware-removal capabilities, or just that it installs and "works"? It also has a good rating on CNET and Softpedia.

The rating at MajorGeeks is what users have rated it, MG themselves didn't review.

The CNET/download.com reviews makes no mention of testing it against malware. The Softpedia user rating is only 3.1 out of 5.

My rather sharp criticism of this particular IOBit brand may indeed suggest it just a knee-jerk bashing for sake of a blind lashing out against it but not so.

Generally accepted AS scanners like Mbam, Emsisoft, and SAS don't exactly give rise to full confidence in their own capability to live up to what many users/customers come to expect in their respective deep inspection results, but IOBit is obviously just throwing out a version/AS release in an effort to just attract attention IMHO.

It's simply just not in their expertise at this time to possess a capability for this type.product line to be taken seriously.
