I think you have the free version, in this case Edge will identify threats in realtime or during a scan, but will not prevent them from loading or removing.
For complete features (block and removing malwares) you need the Pro version.
If you have a payed version Pro you can easily remove malicious software

Edge is a CIPS based on comunity database; here more information about the program

We haven't had any other reports of the tray icon disappearing so I think we're just going to have to keep an eye on it :doubt:

Medium is the recommended self protection level but you can safely put it on Minimum if you do experience any incompatibility :)

You can but the only benefit would be to run 2.0 in either Pro or Expert mode n the benefit would be havin a classical HIPS alongside Edge

note:it is a good idea to add your apps to prevx edge white list to avoide conflics

Edge still seems to be monitoring after right clicking it's tray icon and disabling?

Still picked up the install of a new rogue AV but didn't flag the installer.

    Hi Franklin

That is interesting! I cannot reproduce this behaviour how ever hard I try. Are you using the latest build (3.0.1.17)? Once you had selected the period of time to suspend Edge did you then click 'Stop Edge Protection' again? A silly question I know but I have done this, ie, failed to do that and therefore Edge was not disabled. o_O

There are two levels of being disabled in Edge - you can enter Install Mode (which is the default) or you can completely disable Edge if you click the dropdown box. Install Mode will just disable the age/spread/advanced heuristics but leave on the main protection of Edge.

I am getting a malware detection from Prevx Edge and I'm wondering if it's a false positive? The file name is regplib.exe and it's located in the Windows\system32 folder. Scans with AVG and MBAM do not flag this file. Google was not very helpful either. Any thoughts? The OS is Windows 7 beta (32 bit).
