    Hi Joe

Just to say that the update to 3.0.1.15 seemed to go without a hitch...no aborted scan or the like...justthe disappearance of the sys tray icon which came back shortly afterwards.

So far so good but I will try to give it 'some whellie' later on tonight. :D

Hmm... really not sure what's causing your problem. If you download the beta manually and then run it, does it upgrade your install properly?

Our FP rate is actually near 0%. If you take into account the hundreds of thousands of new files we see every day, I think the trickle of 1-2 very minor FPs here on Wilders is acceptable :)

Even if there were 1,000 FPs... every day... that would still be far less than 1%.

And trust me, if we had even 100 FPs every day, we would have some huge problems and probably no users :D

So, if you're looking to critique statistics, feel free to +/- 1% on what we detect over other vendors, knowing that we would have been out of business years ago if we came anywhere near 1% :)

I know PrevX doesn't send any file data to your servers, but I would also like an option to disable the sending of filenames/paths. Call me paranoid, but I would rather this information was not sent.

I'm afraid that can't be done as these characteristics are used to help analyze/correlate samples

    Yes, that's always worked properly.

Also noticed that scanning files in the recycle bin - even if this is possibly supposedly fixed - doesn't work. I tested by just throwing a file from my desktop in there - an AVI-video file. Came back with 0 files scanned.

We've experienced some mixed behavior as well and are going to be investigating it closer :)

It really depends on your browsing habits - many users can run on maximum with no FPs and some experience some by just moving to high. Increasing the heuristics, however, does not decrease performance.

Is there any way to turn off these little pop ups in the bottom every time a file is checked?

    Hello,
The next stable release should be coming either by the end of this week or next week. We're just finishing testing against all of the other security products on every OS but as soon as we're finished, we'll be releasing it :)

Romagnolo, although the thread in your signature is in italian, you've used some nice screenshots. Seems to be a number of members there interested in prevx. Just noticed 'eraser' from prevx is on that forum helping out. :)

Just wanna give props to PrevX Edge :thumb:

My mother got hit with a virus last night that disabled Norton, overwhelmed Norton Antibot and infected her PC with multiple trojans and rootkits. The only program I could run was Dr Web Cureit from my personal website. All other websites were blocked. Popups, fake antivirus software...wasn't able to run many applications including Malware Bytes and Superantispyware because they were being blocked.

Besides Spyware Doctor, and Drweb Cureit the only other application I was able to run was PrevX edge, and it went above and beyond. It detected the the culprits and removed them for me (bought a license). The rootkits were taken care of, I was able to browse to other security sites to run some additional scans and install further security programs. Top it off PrevX scan was ultra fast.

Lets just say it was money well spent and you guys just got a few new customers :)
