    Hi wajamus

Thanks for the candour and openness. If you keep going like this I am sure you will reach your desired audience.

As you can already see the mere sniff of subscription has got noses out of joint. Therefore, IMHO, you précising that this will be only for a cloud backup option (that is just that...optional), and that the basic app will be on the more usual license fee approach, is helpful in stopping conjecture...most of us just want clarity in terms of what is and (as far it can be given) what is planned, etc.

Keep it up...you are on the right track. :D

Also, think that the doing "...incremental releases with bits of integration coming out as we go along" is a good idea...but I would recommend that you institute a formal 'beta' release channel, to run concurrently with the 'stable' release one...so that users can be clear as to where they are and be where they want to be, etc.

Just a thought, that I had mentioned to Isso a while back...re. AXTM going forward.

Finally, would strongly recommend using the Features & Feedback feature from the AX64 website...it is a really good idea; allows users to see what has been suggested as new features, vote for them, make their own suggestions, and keep track of what the development team are considering, working on, etc...without the need to continuously be asking questions in the forum. A real plus point, again...IMHO. ;)

    Regards, Baldrick

I don't usually feel comfortable about mergers.
Isso has grown a great reputation on Wilders, he has been hard working, attentive and maintained an active diologue with users during the development which has helped the AX64 get to an almost completely refined state in a very short period of time. This development has succeeded based on a mutual respect model. Personally I hate cloudware and rentware/leaseware and I hope that this merger doesn't send the software in that direction.
Allow the software owner to really own the software without insisting on a web umbilical cord.
If you insist on having a cloud option please make the tickbox default to off and that there are no web nags. Good luck with the merger.

    Alllll-RIGHT! Great news!

Waj, I'll have my people call your people who'll call Isso's people who'll call Bernanke and we'll sit down for a serious tete a tete and come up with a new going rate for the talent you're clearly looking to obtain.

I was kinda thinkin' about maybe somewhere near close to approximately... oh possibly $.55 per week hopefully. That sounds like a good starting point.

I'm seriously looking forward to working with you folks concerning the new "Real Machine"... err, uh... "Time Copy"... or was that "Copy Machine," or maybe "Real Time." Hmmmm... I better get down to doing some serious homework here on the brand new, never to be discarded, soon to be released, for FREE of course... "Wajamus Machine" which will include a brand new leading edge technology never before seen in any snapshot application known as "Isso MODE!"

Here's a possible PRESS RELEASE you may find useful...

    Isso MODE
    ------------
Bottom line... the ability to roll forward into the future without even having a snapshot to go to.

You pick the time, you pick the place, you pick the system configuration you wish to have and "Isso MODE" will take you there. "Isso MODE" is also fully capable of MERGING your system with your neighbor's should you so desire... this we've seen done very recently when required.

How could you not want this application...

    Buy It!
(as soon as they dump the monthly subscription model that is)

    Hi Wajamus,
If you implement the cloud, will it be a voluntary option? I for one don't need it and don't have the resources to pay a monthly subscription, so that would be a deal breaker for me.
UPDATE: I have read your follow up post promising not to implement monthly subscriptions and making the cloud voluntary. That said, I'm on the team. Thanks for clarifying that for us.

    ROFL x 100 :argh:

Froggie, you have really outdone yourself this time. If that is how you are pitching the 'to be' product then heaven help us with regard to the spiel when the product is actually released. ;)

You have no need to worry. Wajamus stated, in an earlier post that

"The current pricing scheme is likely to continue when the full RC time machine version comes out. Regarding cloud stuff, it'll be an optional service provided through subscription. Rest assured, when integrated, we would aim to make it seamless and unobtrusive."

    Hi twl

Wajamus went on to say, re. the cloud aspect

"The current pricing scheme is likely to continue when the full RC time machine version comes out. Regarding cloud stuff, it'll be an optional service provided through subscription. Rest assured, when integrated, we would aim to make it seamless and unobtrusive."

Assuming that is how it pans out in the new product that certainly fits the bill for me (as I suspect for you), i.e., optional.

    :D

You all are just a hoot!

To be honest, I had visited Wilder's many times in the past and read a few posts. Then, a couple months ago, I ran across this thread and now I can't wait to click that "New Posts" link several times a day! You guys make my day!

On top of all that, I've learned tons and tons from all of you. Because of many of you, I've purchased my first commercial software (what I would call "utilities") in years. I've been (and will always be) a huge fan of freeware for years. But, because of you all, I've purchased AX64 and now have even purchased WSA.

Thanks for lightening up my days and bringing many a smile to my face....

Wow, this thread is active as never before! :)

Guys, thank you so much for congratulations and for your great support. I'll do my best to contribute to the design of the combined product so it is both easy to use and powerful at the same time. As always I'll be grateful to receive any feedback and suggestions from you after the new product is released.

    Regards,
    Isso

Hey VP, the press release is of course fantastic as always, we had an 1500% increase in sales after publishing it. But WTF is "$.55 per week"?? The company is in a tough period, and you want half of its revenue, don't be so greedy Forrgie!! I'm wondering what are you going to do with that loads of money??

    ok $.49

As a concerned and serious sub member of this awesome Wilder's community, completely satisfied & sold on yet perhaps the best if not one of the best software releases to been introduced here and greatly welcomed in ISSO'S AX64 Time Machine, i join with other members in the hope that the same cooperation and results continue in the same manner as Isso has so courteously initiated and agree 100% with the fellow member's above quote of compliment as well as concern for the future of this great imaging/snapshot product.

    Many Regards, Easter

    Great to see you Isso!

Please keep the software simple and not bloated! When I used to live near where you are now, I ran CP/M on my Apple.

The program to copy files, etc was called PIP (Peripheral Interchange Program). It was strange, and you did a copy to from! Anyway a great program called SWEEP was written. After several releases...improvements...it was so bloated that many of us just went back to PIP!

Anyway, I know that many will not know what I am talking about. Remember these were the days of VERY FAST Modems running 300 Baud.

P.S. I still have my Apple ][+ with the CP/M card by Microsoft! I wonder what ever happened to them? ;)

Congratulations Isso and team :) I am very glad to read your future plans Isso!

After I had reviewed Real Copy and learned what it was capable of and figured out how it did its job, I had always wondered if you guys (your team and Real Copy) had ever worked together or knew each other.

I had my own speculation that they may be involved in some way with the recent events, but I did not want to add any more speculation to the thread, and it was not my place to do so. I am very glad things are working out for you Isso, and I hope you know I wish you all only the best success in your future endeavors together.

AX64 team with Real Copy and Peter Nesic should be able to assemble quite an impressive product. I have had some communication with Peter before and he had shared with me some of their future dev. plans for Real Copy at the time, and now finding out you guys will be working together, I personally think your end product will be excellent, flexible and rock solid reliable, I have little doubt my friend. As young as AX64TM is, it already had shown great potential to be able to easily compete in the imaging sector and your agreement with Real Copy devs. will be exciting to see how it matures as they are merged together.

Keep up the great work, and all my very best wishes to you! :)

    Jim

It's already been said that it'll be an optional service so those that want to use it, can, and those that don't, don't have to.
