Good to hear from you Isso, I hope you made out OK in this merger or, perhaps more accurately, joining of AX64 to RealCopy, and I hope you will have a principle position in any future development and management of AX64/RealCopy. Personally I will wait to see how things go before I start cheering. I would feel much better if it was clear you were in charge, or at least a principle in the new company (if it is a new company). From the lack of info available to you it does not sound as if this is the case. Frankly I am more optimistic than I was yesterday, but less optimistic that I would like to be at this point. Any way, its really good to hear from you.

    Hi,,
Will current licensed AX64 user receive a license for the new product resulting in the announced merge ?
    Thanks.

Congratulations Isso! Having read-up on RealCopy more closely, looks to me like the combination with AX64 will be a very interesting development indeed.
Hope you will be able to maintain the same level of direct and personal contact, ensuring Wilders' members continued strong support which undoubtedly will lead to an even greater product.
Wishing you and your new partners lots of success, with kind regards,

    Hi Guys,

This is Wajamus, from the Realcopy team. Thank you everyone for the encouraging support! It means a lot. Times have been hectic but it's good to see things moving a long. :)

We apologize sincerely for causing any stir.

We have been working with ISSO for a while now, even before AX64 was released. Realcopy and AX64 share many similarities, but each product contains great features that are unique to each other. On the basis of our friendly rapport and the benefit of combining our products, it only seemed natural to join forces.

For those in doubt, ISSO is still lead software architect and he will continue in the same capacity as you've known him to in the past. ISSO will be on these forums, and continue providing awesome support and make technology decisions as much as usual. I as well as the other Realcopy team members will also be on here helping you guys out and giving you frequent updates :D

Regarding product release schedules, licenses and pricing - the whole team is still discussing it.

None of this is set in stone, but this is roughly it will go:

    1. Release new versions of AX64 and Realcopy respectively.

Before merging out teams, both Realcopy and AX64 had versions in development that were soon to be released. Both these versions are just on the horizon (just a week or so away) so we shall release them first before the release of integrated AX64 and Realcopy version.

    Realcopy release

We will have a new website with the new version of Realcopy released there (without the AX64 integration). The release will have features like clone disc, hardware independent restore, recovery disc and a fully featured partitioning tool that we're very proud of. It will also be far superior in speed and stability to the current Realcopy. There will be a promotional period where the home version will be free. ETA ~2 weeks.

    AX64 next stable release
AX64 will release its next stable release on AX64.com and re-initialize the purchasing checkout system. Pricing same as usual. It is a minor release so update is free for existing customers.

    2. Major release: Realcopy - Time Machine.

After we release the next version of AX64 and Realcopy (as mentioned above), we'll be working around the clock to combine both these products to make an uber product. The combined product will be branded under the Realcopy name, and this release should be considered the next major version for both AX64 and Realcopy.

As this is a major version, it would be priced accordingly (including existing paying customers at a discount). More details on pricing as we come closer towards release.

Integration of AX64 and Realcopy requires some hardcore coding. It'll take some time. We estimate 8-12 weeks.

With all that, both Realcopy and AX64 teams are keen to go forward as a single thriving force. We're not some huge development company. We're largely independent and spend our own hard earned cash to make these products happen. We use the software ourselves and are truly passionate about how our users enjoy the stuff we create. We hope that you guys will continue to support us and enjoy the software as much as we do designing and making them!

Feel free to ask questions. I'll be on here as much as I can.

    Cheers,

    Wajamus

Hi wajamus, recovery disk for Realcopy will be very nice :)
And about AX64...an update will be nice, too.
    Thanks and good luck.

    Hi Isso

Really, really good to hear from you again, and that you are still with us; currently in the same guise, but soon to be in a new one...but still doing what you have done and do best...software & support. :thumb:

Hope that this all works out for you and that the combined product, as described by wajamus, is indeed the game changer that AXTM started out as. Could be very exciting...and I am looking forward to the ride.

All the best for the future.

    Regards, and respect, as always.

    Hi wajamus

Welcome...and thank you for sharing so much detail with us...even at this early stage of the new & improved joint venture.

It is much appreciated by all of us here...as I am sure you understand when you see the sort of rapport that we have with Isso and AXTM.

Sad in a way that AXTM will not continue as such...but excited (from what I read) about where the new, combined product can go...and when thinking about it (and reviewing all the feature requests made to Isso re. AXTM) it seems to be a logical/natural move.

As I said in my previous post (to Isso) this could be very exciting...and I am looking forward to the ride.

All the best for the future.

    Regards

    Baldrick

Thanks Baldrick! Encouragement from you and all the users here means a ton to the AX64 and Realcopy teams. Realcopy has been worked on for five years behind closed doors (we lack promoting ourselves skills). It's a very exciting time for us now that we can finally see things moving forward after all these years.

I can imagine that it is a little sad given the rapport you guys had with Isso. But I think that relationship will continue to thrive :)

In addition, we will be adding a new bunch to the lot - me in addition to the rest of the Realcopy guys will be on here now too.

Again, thanks and I'll keep you guys in the loop.

    Hi wajamus

Thanks...and if I may offer a very small piece of advice, or perhaps more humbly...a suggestion? One of the things we love and appreciate about AXTM is its simplicity & ease of use/the lack of bloat, etc.

If I may...please make sure that the combined product follows that ethos...and even if we users ask for, nay, demand new functions (as we will do  ) that do not necessarily lend themselves to the simplicity & ease of use of the product...then RESIST. :D

Personally, I would much prefer to pay a reasonable yearly subscription for a product that changes marginally and judiciously when really required, but mainly just does what it is supposed to do very, very well, rather than have an increasing feature set that I most probably will not use and that introduces bugs, slowness, etc...just as has happened with some of the so called 'market leaders', etc.

Said my piece  ...now looking forward to the journey.

    Regards

    Balders

Not about to worry about $20/$25 (presumed upgrade price), however, having said that, if the freezing issues and or other issues still exist after the next uodate, it would seem most disappointing paying "again" for something that isn't even one year old and flawed. I would hope the developers would keep that in mind if indeed, the next update release is still not stable. Thank you!

So I guess its best to wait for the combined version program of Real Copy and Time Machine

I know in their present configuration they don't run together on a machine

These programs separately will become redundant at some point in favor of a new combined version?

On top of that imo the name RealCopy is much more user friendly. :thumb:

Exactly, "freezing" in the key word, may be the solution will not be easy and it take long time, we'll see.

Glad to hear that things are at last to move forward after the indecision of the last few weeks :)

Will be interested to see what the discount pricing will be for people like myself who bought the AX64 4 pack in order to help support the product.

Like others here, I would like to see the superb simplicity of AX64 as a key part of the Realcopy product.

For me that has been its killer feature (plus the fact that for me it just works!)

Uh, oh... there goes the neighborhood :D

Greetings, Wajamus! I thank you very much for your appearance here. With your excellent explanation of near term events, it's clear that Isso has rubbed off on you the right way. As many have already stated, we all hope this type of openness and honesty with the ongoing hybrid product will continue as it has been through our short lived AX64 experience.

As far as my past duties as "virtual" VP of Marketing, it appears that must come to an end... especially since no one as of yet from either AX64 or RealCopy has offered to increase my base salary from the current $.47 per week :(

Having perused your current website-in-the-making for the new RealCopy Time Machine (it can be found pretty easily), be ready for some interesting questions since apparently the pricing page is in its infancy, and as such shows a MONTHLY licensing fee for this software. I believe this to be part of a template which hopefully will be changed to a basic licensing fee, but if its real... be prepared for those very pesky questions

Other than all the above nonsense... Welcome!

PS- Isso... don't leave me yet!! :'(

Boss!?!? What were you thinking? Methinks waaaaay too much Tequila... and all that French Wine from the back of the Harley.

Congratulations on the new venture... I wish your entire team the best of everything. And about Wajamus stating that you'll remain chief cook and bottle washer on this future effort... make sure it stays that way. You've built up way too much personal capital with this group to risk it to any other method of communications that may reduce the rapport between the user and the new business arrangement... keep up the GREAT WORK, please.

...and about that final check for my services as "virtual" VP of Marketing for AX64... please make out the check to FROGGIE THE GREMLIN in the amount of $1.41 (you're 3-weeks behind at the moment) and send it along with an outstanding written reference for my services. I will surely need that as I enter the ranks of the seriously unemployed.

Good luck, my friend... it's been a great ride!

Isso/wajamus, how can you pass up on the services such an excellent "Virtual" VP of Marketing...especially when he is so 'cheap'...;)
