Unless you're trying to imply that IE9 final has yet to be released - what are you talking about?

To repeat what should be obvious: IE9 final was released 14th March. Where is this top-secret newer-than-RTM build you insist exists? And yes, "kept hiding around", because you're the only person I've seen who's trying to claim that such a build exists. The rest of us would like to see it too, so would you be so kind as to show us?

Is it all you understood? o_O :D :D
    To get done with it,

-My Windows and Office are Not RTM versions.

-My IE9 (received yesterday via Windows Updates; not on March 14) is a RTM version.

    As simple as that!

    Win7 7600 and 7601 (SP1) are RTM versions. Again, I don't know which top-secret version of Win7 you're running.

Unless you want to claim that Microsoft has been lying to the world when they said IE9 final was released on March 14, then please show us where can we find the post-RTM version of IE9.

    As simple as that!

Actually, Win 7 7600 RTM was followed by Win 7 7600 which was followed by Win 7 7601 (SP1).
    W7 7600 and W7 7601 are Not RTM versions.

When an Upcoming IE9 Update (via Windows Update) will Remove the RTM indication, I will make a Screen-Shot.

Then, IE9 will be like my Windows and Office versions: without an RTM indication.

Why do you need to wait until it's pushed out via Windows Update? Unless Microsoft has been bold-facedly lying to the whole world, IE9 final has been released already and has been publicly available for download since March 14. So if the version that you and I and everyone else in the world has isn't it, then please tell us where we can find this ultra-secret post-RTM final IE9.

And oh, links to your top-secret post-RTM final builds of Win7 would be appreciated too.

Can we please get this thread back on track? Failure of some people to understand the meaning of RTM is not really of any interest to others here.

    Definitely...
Windows 7 7600 RTM was followed by Windows 7 7600 which was the Official/Stable Release found on Shelves.
The Final product was 7600; not 7600 RTM.
Why Not? That's the most reliable way (via Windows Update) according to MS.
When MS is going to update IE9 and remove the RTM indication,
    I am going to post a Screen-Shot. :-*

When software is patched for whatever reason, it's 1's and 0's are different from the released version, hence no longer RTM. I guess that's hard to understand.

To use a crude explanation, RTM is like "v1.0", when it's patched it becomes "v1.1" (or whatever) so it is no longer "v1.0" and is no longer RTM.

    I'll leave it there.

Sorry if I'm getting back to you late, Eice. It's the 32 bit version I use.

Hm, I'm out of ideas then. Guess there's just something on your system that IE9 doesn't like.

My system itself doesn't like a lot of things :D It seems the more I deviate from my "standard" setup, the more things get wonky. Such is my life with computers.

Note: I believe this thread to be appropriate to ask this, but if moderators find it to be more appropriate to have its own thread, then move it, please. Thanks.

Is anyone able/unable to download files from Rapidshare using IE9? It complains I'm not using a supported version, and among the supported browsers, it shows IE8. I also cannot download with Chromium... same error. So, I'm stuck.

Anyway, was wondering if anyone also has problems downloading from Rapidshare?

I guess I'll have to install either Chrome or Opera, for these occasions. :argh:

Just when I was happy enough with both Chromium and IE9... :'( :isay:

I use JDownloader for Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc. It's much better than any browser, because it downloads all links one at a time without user interaction.

    Tell me about it!! :ouch:

I do notice, at least from the Chromium screenshot, that you aren't blocking cookies. Could that be it? o_O I do block cookies... in both web browsers. This would be the first time Rapidshare pulls something like that, to my knowledge.

Possibly. But I doubt Rapidshare would work with other browsers if that were the case.

I personally find blocking cookies unnecessary; I just let the adblocker do its job.

Just curious if any of you have experienced slower times with shutdown and startup since installing IE9. I have on a few Windows 7 boxes here at work.

    Thanks.

To me on Win 7 x64 it's about the same! It could something else that is causing the slow shutdown?

Not sure man good question. This is on a few machines at work. They were all fine until I installed IE 9.0. I personally don't use IE so I could care less but my end users do.

I've had some problems with slower startups and experienced a few more IE9 crashes than with IE8. I finally reinstalled IE8 and will try IE9 later. Its may very well have been a conflict but I wasn't able to isolate.
