I installed Ubuntu Linux on my 200GB SATA drive.
Following that I carved out with DD 10 an 80GB partition and used Windows XP bootable CD and ran 1st stage of XP install which sets location/partition and copies the install files to the HD. Upon that finishing it rebooted but there was no GRUB entry or anyway to boot into XP to continue the install.

So I tried my Acronis Boot CD with DD 10 and to use the Acronis OS Selector Activator or Windows to boot into my Windows XP install but no luck!

My HD layout is 1 SATA attached to SATA PCI card with three partitions

    Partition#/Filesystem/Description
    1 - ext3 - /
    2 - NFTS - Windows XP
    3 - linux swap

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello metro305,

Thank you for using Acronis Disk Director Suite.

You should do the following to continue install of your Windows XP:

    1) Boot the computer from a Windows XP Installation\Bootable CD
    2) Start Recovery Console
    3) Run fixmbr command

After that you should continue install of Windows XP from your HDD, but GRUB still will be not available. Your should read this article Recovering Ubuntu After Installing Windows to fix it.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

    Thank you.
