Installation fails - rolls back

As stated, cannot install. The installer does not complete and rolls back to the state before installation.

I uninstalled V3 per the instructions and I've even renamed the Program Files\ESET folder and ESET registry keys under Local System and Current User HKEYs with no luck.

This is the only message in the system log:

Any advise?

 

Just a thought, but have you tried Windows Installer Clean Up?

 

I believe the problem is (was) that the ESS v4 Beta installer does not properly convey the condition that the system requires a reboot before installation can continue...

After getting the message in the original post, I attempted to re-install ESS v3 and received such an error.

Rebooted the PC and was able to re-install ESS v3.
