Thanks, I will keep it in mind. I have used it before.
If you know where you downloaded the trojan from then you won't do it again. You gain awareness of how to prevent future infections from happening. And that's the most valuable lesson of all.
Windows Restore is not as effective. A third party restore tool works much better since it can perform a restore before Windows boots up. Windows Restore can't.
CL encrypts any mapped partition that it can read. Back up all your critical files to an unmapped cloud server or better yet, save the data to hard copies offline - that you absolutely cannot afford to lose! The most important rule is to NEVER download any file that you weren't expecting to receive in the first place.
Yes it can, if you press F8 when booting and then select Repair, or if you boot from the Windows DVD.
However 3rd party tools will do a more comprehensive restore no doubt, just because of the way they work.
Well tested webroot against cryptolocker again and the video is to big to load up to a file sharing program because my internet is to slow sorry. But I can test against virut, Sality, and expiro if you guys want.
No personal tests to be posted here.
No it is not gonna be uploaded here it is gonna me uploaded to Mega file sharing service sorry for any misunderstandings.
No, ronjor means no results of personal tests are to be posted here where ever they're uploaded to. Wilders has a policy against home-grown tests, and for good reason. See here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=180128
Sorry did not know that.
