Infamous Forum For Instagram Hackers Gets Hacked by Other Hackers
Hackers hacked the OGUSERS forum and published its database in another hacker forum

The administrator of the forum, which is called OGUSERS, announced it in a post on the forum itself on Thursday.
“More unfortunate news,” the administrator, who goes by Ace, wrote. “It appears someone was able to breach the server through a custom plugin in the forum software and get access to an old backup dating December 26, 2018.”

OGUSERS, also known as OGU within its members, is a forum ostensibly launched to trade “OG” usernames, as in: unique, short, and rare usernames. In addition to social media accounts, OGUSERS also traded in PlayStation Network, Steam, Domino’s Pizza, and other online accounts.

The hacked data includes OGUSERS usernames, passwords hashed with the MD5 algorithm, emails, IP addresses, source code, website data, and private messages.
“It's like a nuke dropped on the site,” a OGUSERS member told Motherboard, explaining that people are quitting the site, worried that authorities have their data, or that others will now hack their accounts. "[...] if you were to look into it or an FBI agent there is a lot to find.”

OGUsers, one of the most popular hacking forums on the internet, disclosed today a security breach, the second such incident in the past year.

"It appears that someone was able to breach the server through a shell in avatar uploading in the forum software and get access to our current database dating April 2, 2020," said Ace, the forum's administrator.
The attacker is believed to have stolen the details of more than 200,000 users, the latest user counter listed on the forum.

Before taking the site down, administrators said they reset passwords and urged users to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for their accounts, so any of the data taken in the hack can't be used to hijack accounts.

All the users who had their data traded on the site would call what's happening to the forum "justice."

In April 2020, the account hijacking and SIM swapping forum OGUsers suffered their second data breach in less than a year. As with the previous breach, the exposed data included email and IP addresses, usernames, private messages and passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes. A total of 263k email addresses across user accounts and other tables were posted to a rival hacking forum.

Account Hijacking Site OGUsers Hacked, Again

For at least the third time in its existence, OGUsers — a forum overrun with people looking to buy, sell and trade access to compromised social media accounts — has been hacked.

Roughly a week ago, the OGUsers homepage was defaced with a message stating the forum’s user database had been compromised. The hack was acknowledged by the forum’s current administrator, who assured members that their passwords were protected with a password obfuscation technology that was extremely difficult to crack.
But unlike in previous breaches at OGUsers, the perpetrators of this latest incident have not yet released the forum database.

In the meantime, someone has been taunting forum members, saying they can have their profiles and private messages removed from an impending database leak by paying between $50 and $100.

Fourth time's a charm - OGUsers hacking forum hacked again

Popular hacking forum OGUsers has been hacked for its fourth time in two years, with hackers now selling the site's database containing user records and private messages.

A source familiar with the attack has told BleepingComputer that OGusers was hacked on April 11th, 2021, and that the attackers gained access to a complete dump of the forum database. This dump includes the user records and private messages for approximately 350,000 OGUsers members.
BleepingComputer was told by this source that OGUsers uses many plugins that contain vulnerabilities that attackers can chain together to "shell the site."

Vitali Kremez, CEO of cybersecurity intelligence firm Advanced Intel, told us that database leaks on criminal forums could benefit law enforcement and security researchers.

"This purported OGUsers leak can potentially expose cybercriminals via their registration email accounts and IP addresses and link back to their real identities."
