i have some kind of spyware/adware on my system that changes my home page, adds bookmarks to my favorites list as well as causes full window sized pop-ups that get past my pop-up blocker. i have looked through many of the other posts in hopes that someone else posted the same problem that i have and then go through the processes of removing said spy/adware, however spyware guard only lists where the spy/adware is and not WHAT it is, so i can not follow any past removal tute's without knowing what i'm dealing with. also...a question, why is spyware and adware not illegal?

    here is my highjackthis log:

    Hi,

You have a LOT of junk on your machine. Close all browser windows and run HijackThis. Then tick the following items and choose fix selected. Then reboot, and post a new log here

    Download and run: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
Use the Fix button and follow the instructions you will receive.

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe

Then boot normally. If that does not restore your internet connection, please download and run http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

    Regards,
