    Important Maxthon update v1.5.2 b21


    New:

    - Improved popup blocking
    - Improved start page script to support unicode better.
    - New advanced option-> Free memory regularly
    . (uses less virtual memory now, half the amount than it did before)

    Not new:

    - protection against possible dangerous content (like the Windows WMF Exploit:D )

    Your question concern a special Maxthon territory, i'm not an Maxthon security expert, i don't know.

    Have put your question in the Maxthon forum, when i get an answer i will update this thread.

    Ok, let's have fun, i promised come back here when i know the answer on the question: is there within Maxthon a solution/setting for this nasty.

    Answer is short: yes:)

    By the courtesy of Flash, Maxthon forum member:


    Just add

    *.wmf

    to your Content Filter (Web Ad Filter), and then it's enabled and you are protected.

    Tested on "pornsites-reviews[dot]com"...

    It blocked

    iframebiz[dot]biz/xpl.wmf


    Of course you can do this with all potential dangerous content;)


    Don't forget to restart Maxthon after modifying the Content Filter.
