IMON question

i have internet server(win xp sp2+kerio win route) using DSL connection. All workstation connect thorugh this server. I've installed NOD32 on this server. Should i enable IMON ? Are there any performance degradation in internet connection if i turn on IMON ?

internet servers should have IMON disabled and u shouldnt be using the internet on them anyways.

It creates delays in http traffic which can cause lockups and or system failure at the extreme end though it's uncommon. IMON is not recommended in a server environment.

 

The danger is that IMON will interfere with certain server type processes. For example, a web server may have connectivity problems or even have the process crash, because IMON is not meant to handle that type of load.

On the other hand, if your server is very lightly loaded, then you may be able to get away with running IMON.

If you want to try IMON on your server, that is your choice. If it works fine, then no problem. However, if you do run into problems, try disabling IMON and see if that fixes the problem.
